The long international break is finally over, and Gameweek 6 offers a promising opportunity to play your Wildcard. Several teams have favourable fixture swings ahead, as highlighted in our guide to the best and worst fixtures for Gameweeks 6–11.

Having already covered a balanced Gameweek 6 Wildcard team, we now explore a draft built around three premium assets: Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes and Bukayo Saka.

Using Fantasy Football Fix’s AI-powered Assistant Manager tool, we fit all three into a Fantasy Premier League squad while retaining a double-up on Arsenal’s defence.

⚠️ International break injury watch: Several players are currently flagged in FPL, so treat this Wildcard team as a provisional draft. The pre-Gameweek 6 press conferences should provide more clarity on injuries and availability — check the latest team news before finalising your squad.

Build Your Best FPL Team with AI – Fully Customisable

The AI-powered Assistant Manager tool helps you build a tailored FPL team around your strategy.

Choose which heavy hitters to include or leave out, how much to invest in bench depth and how many Gameweeks to optimise your squad for.

Fix Assistant Manager Customisations

As shown above, you can include premium picks such as Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Bukayo Saka and David Raya while still building a strong squad around them.

Once you have set your criteria, the Assistant Manager generates an optimised FPL team designed to maximise points.

Defence – Arsenal Double-Up and Two DEFCON Monsters

Arsenal kept three clean sheets in the opening five Gameweeks, and the algorithm doubles up on their defence with Riccardo Calafiori and David Raya.

With Ezri Konsa currently an injury doubt and expected to lose his place when William Saliba returns, reportedly in November, Calafiori and Raya offer more secure long-term routes into Arsenal’s defence.

As the image below from our Stats Sandbox shows, no defender has registered more attempted assists than Maxim De Cuyper over the first five Gameweeks.

Creativity Stats for Defenders

Defensive contribution points (DEFCON) provide another valuable source of returns. Tarik Muharemović and António Silva rank third and fourth for defensive contributions, respectively, over the opening five Gameweeks, as shown below.

Defcon Stats for Defenders

Meanwhile, Coventry top our Fixture Difficulty Ratings for the next six Gameweeks, making Bobby Thomas an appealing budget option.

Midfield – Two Heavy Hitters and Three Budget Gems

FPL’s top-scoring player, Pascal Groß, is an obvious inclusion, with Brighton facing Sunderland and Crystal Palace over the next two Gameweeks.

Optimal Player Rotation Strategy Gameweek 6 Fantasy Premier League 2026/27

The Assistant Manager’s Optimal Player Rotation Strategy, shown above, highlights Bruno Fernandes as a captaincy option in Gameweeks 6 and 10, when Erling Haaland faces Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, respectively.

Goal Threat Stats for Midfielders

As the image above from our Stats Sandbox shows, Bukayo Saka leads all midfielders for shots on target, with nine over the first five Gameweeks.

Budget picks Josh King (seven) and Kevin Schade (six) rank third and fifth, respectively, for the same metric, adding further goal threat to the midfield.

Forwards – Haaland and Two Budget Options

Erling Haaland dominates the underlying numbers. The Norwegian leads all players for shots (20), shots on target (10), shots in the box (19), big chances (nine) and expected goals (xG, 4.73).

Goal Threat Stats for Forwards

However, our Stats Sandbox shows that Thierno Barry is close behind for big chances, with eight to Haaland’s nine. He also ranks second across all positions for xG (3.84).

Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin ranks third among forwards for big chances (six) and fourth for xG (3.22).

Best Heavy-Hitter Wildcard Squad for Gameweek 6

Fitting Haaland, Fernandes and Saka alongside Raya might usually mean sacrificing balance elsewhere. However, this draft retains strong bench depth and includes players who rank highly for key underlying statistics across all positions.

There are also several captaincy options, with all three premium attackers enjoying appealing home fixtures over the coming Gameweeks.

Best Heavy Hitter Wildcard Team for FPL Gameweek 6

The Assistant Manager lets you build a custom Wildcard draft using FPL AI. Prioritise certain positions, rotate defenders around their fixtures, target differentials or tailor the squad to your management style.

Your ideal FPL Wildcard team could be just a few tweaks away.
