The first five Gameweeks of the season have given plenty to ponder for FPL managers with several budget options outshining the more expensive picks.
For FPL managers who still have their Wildcard, the international break offers time to reassess their squads, target fixture swings and monitor injury news before the Gameweek 6 deadline.
In this guide, we use Fantasy Football Fix’s AI-powered Assistant Manager tool to build a Gameweek 6 Wildcard draft for Fantasy Premier League, backed by player statistics and upcoming fixtures.
⚠️ International break injury watch: Several players are currently flagged in FPL, so treat this Wildcard team as a provisional draft. The pre-Gameweek 6 press conferences should provide more clarity on injuries and availability — check the latest team news before finalising your squad.
The AI-powered Assistant Manager tool helps you create a fully tailored FPL team based on your own strategy.
Whether you want to exclude specific players, load up on midfielders, or experiment with different formations, this smart tool adapts to your preferences.

As shown in the image above, FPL managers can choose to lock in players such as Erling Haaland to ensure they have a good captaincy option every week.
Once your criteria are set, the Assistant Manager generates an optimised FPL team designed to maximise points.
Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in the opening five fixtures and the Fix Algorithm has doubled down on the Gunners' defence with Ezri Konsa and Riccardo Calafiori.

As the above image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, no defender has created more than Maxim De Cuyper's 11 chances this season, the Belgian international is also top for big chances created (three).
Lewis Hall is not far off for big chances created (two) and has racked up more baseline Bonus Points System (bBPS) points (64) than any other defender which means that he will always be in contention for Bonus Points whenever Newcastle keep a clean sheet.
Meanwhile, as the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, budget defender John Egan is top for Defensive Contributions (DEFCON) amongst defenders and can sub in whenever required.

James Trafford has already kept two clean sheets this season and on both occasions, he has picked up Bonus Points as well. The England international (23) is second only to Pickford (25) for bBPS amongst keepers and is likely to be awarded bonus whenever Leeds keep a clean sheet, making him a high ceiling option between the sticks.
No player has racked up more FPL points than Pascal Groß this season (47), the German international is a certain inclusion with the Seagulls playing Sunderland and Crystal Palace next. His ownership is on the rise and as the image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, he has been brought in by over 750,000 FPL managers at the time of writing.

As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, no midfielder has landed more shots on target than Bukayo Saka (nine), the England international is also top for big chances (six). Marcus Tavernier is also included with the 27-year-old second only to Saka for shots on target (eight).

Cole Palmer is fourth amongst midfielders for shots (17) and second for shots in the box (12). Meanwhile, Morgan Gibbs-White is top for big chances created (five) and is second only to Pascal Groß (15) for chances created amongst midfielders (14).
Erling Haaland is top amongst all players for shots (20), shots on target (10), big chances (nine) and expected goals (xG), with 4.73. As the below image from our Assistant Manager's Optimal Player Rotation Strategy shows, he is a captaincy option in each of the upcoming five Gameweeks.

Thierno Barry's numbers are not too far off Haaland's, the 23-year-old is second amongst all players for big chances (eight) and xG (3.84).
João Pedro is currently flagged as a doubt for Gameweek 6 but as per Xabi Alonso's last update, he could be available to face Bournemouth. This squad offers enough depth to bench the Brazilian international even if he misses the next two Gameweeks and it saves a transfer for FPL managers down the line.
The squad features great bench depth with a mix of DEFCON potential, attacking fullbacks and an Arsenal double-up in defence.
In midfield, there are four and even potentially five penalty takers as Marcus Tavernier could take spot-kicks when Justin Kluivert is off the pitch. All of them offer plenty of routes to points with set-pieces in their locker as well.
Meanwhile, the forwards are all secure for minutes and have great underlying numbers.

The Assistant Manager tool lets you build your own custom Wildcard draft using FPL AI. You can prioritise certain positions, rotate defenders for fixtures, chase differentials, or tailor the squad to your own management style. Your perfect FPL Wildcard team may only be a couple of smart tweaks away.
