Gameweek 38 is here, and with the final day comes the usual FPL chaos.
Mass rotation is expected, with several Premier League clubs having little left to play for, while others may already have one eye on European finals, summer holidays or simply getting through the final 90 minutes.
That makes motivation more important than ever.
There is still plenty at stake across the league. Spurs and West Ham are battling to avoid the final relegation spot, while Liverpool, Bournemouth and Brighton are all involved in the Champions League picture. Chelsea, Brentford and Sunderland are still chasing European qualification, with several final-day permutations still in play.
Elsewhere, Arsenal have already wrapped up the title, Man United are locked into third, and several mid-table sides have little more than pride and prize money to play for.
So, with rotation risk high and motivation uneven across the league, which players are FPL managers actually trusting in Gameweek 38?

🤔 What’s the Best Free Hit FPL Team for Gameweek 38?
The Algorithm has crunched the numbers and revealed its optimal squad — built to maximise points.

Haaland takes the armband for Gameweek 38 as Man City host Aston Villa.
There is some uncertainty around Villa’s approach, with Unai Emery admitting in his press conference: “I will try to be serious. I will try to get the best starting 11 players and be focused on respecting the competition, but it’s not easy. Sorry, but it’s not easy!”
The Algorithm has also doubled up on the Arsenal defence for their fixture against Crystal Palace. However, with both sides potentially having one eye on their upcoming European finals, rotation could be a factor. Thankfully, the Algorithm has opted for a strong bench to help cover any surprise omissions.
West Ham, meanwhile, have plenty to play for. They desperately need a win to have any chance of survival, and the Algorithm will be hoping their motivation translates into a clean sheet, with a double-up on the Hammers’ defence.
Mavropanos stands out as the key differential pick.
Over the last eight Gameweeks, he has scored three goals — joint-top among defenders — while his 52 FPL points in that period is also joint-top. He has also registered 98 DEFCON, the third-most among defenders, and is still owned by just 2.0% of managers.
