Gameweek 3 is shaping up to be a defining week for chip usage, with several of FPL’s most successful managers making bold moves ahead of the deadline.
Here are the latest Elite XI chip plans, essential team news and captaincy picks — plus the Algorithm’s optimal Free Hit team.
🆓 Tom Dollimore and Dan Bennett have activated their Free Hit chips. Tom is a former FPL world No. 1, while Dan is one of only five managers in history with ten top-10k finishes.
🃏 Copenhagen Wednesday, a six-time top-10k finisher, plans to activate his Wildcard after the press conferences.

Daniel Muñoz is available but may not be ready to start after a disrupted pre-season. “It’s getting him back to his top fitness level because that’s what he needs,” said Oliver Glasner.
Ismaïla Sarr will need time to regain full fitness and process the events of recent weeks, according to Pierre Sage.
Joe Rodon will be sidelined for eight to ten weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Gameweek 2.
Bradley Barcola looks set to make his Liverpool debut this weekend, although he is expected to start on the bench.
Dominik Szoboszlai could continue at right-back. “If we have to play him as a right winger, a right-back or a left-back, I think he’s ready to do it,” said Andoni Iraola.
Jurriën Timber is back in training. A late decision will be made on whether he can feature against Chelsea.
Bruno Guimarães missed training in midweek with a knock but is expected to return in Gameweek 3.
Cristhian Mosquera was withdrawn as a precaution in Gameweek 2. He will be assessed before the Chelsea match.
Enzo Fernández is fit and available to play for Manchester City.
Sávio is available for selection this weekend, Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed.
Mykhailo Mudryk is available but is only expected to play “15–20 minutes”.
James Maddison returned to training, putting him in contention to feature this weekend.
