xFPL is calculated primarily using expected goals (xG), assists (xA), which combine as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) involvements (xG + xA = xI), as well as expected clean sheets (xCS). These numbers are a result of underlying statistics (i.e. shot type and location will give a probability of scoring = xG). xFPL is the combination of these statistics and factors in appearance and bonus points to give an overall expected FPL point score.
As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, Salah is the most popular transfer in for Gameweek 11 so far with nearly 200,000 FPL managers bringing him in at the time of writing.
Wissa, B. Fernandes and Cunha all notched double figures in Gameweek 11 which has seen their popularity soar.
Haaland continues to be the most sold player for the second consecutive Gameweek with nearly 150,000 managers losing faith in the Norwegian international. Alexander-Arnold was withdrawn early due to an injury, which has seen the right-back suffer over 100,000 sales. While McNeil, Luis Díaz and Solanke all blanked or missed out entirely.
A look at the Top 10 forward transfer combinations across FPL shows that Haaland is making way primarily for cheaper options, such as Cunha, Wissa and João Pedro, with Isak and N. Jackson also seeing transfers in. Calvert-Lewin, Solanke and Raúl are the other players making way for the aforementioned budget forwards.
The Top 10 midfielder transfer combinations is dominated by Salah and B. Fernandes who feature in seven combinations. McNeil, Foden, Son, Johnson and Rogers are the players making way for the more expensive duo.
In defence, all 10 of the transfers out involve either Alexander-Arnold or Lewis, there is a clear trend of FPL managers trying to free up funds with cheaper options such as Mazraoui, Hall and Aït-Nouri coming in.
As the above image from our Opta Player Heatmaps feature shows, Wissa has scored just five FPL points (54) fewer than Cunha (59) over the first 11 Gameweeks, despite playing 319 minutes fewer due to injury.
With such a discrepancy in minutes played, Average Stats per 90 are used instead of Total Stats, as shown in the image above.
Wissa averages a staggering 0.95 goals per 90 and 0.70 Expected Goals (xG), compared to 0.51 and 0.25 respectively for Cunha. However, when it comes to shot volume the Brazilian international is ahead with 3.24 shots and 2.23 shots in the box, compared to 2.37 and 2.05 for Wissa. However, Wissa lands a greater percentage of his attempts on target (1.42 vs 1.11).
When it comes to creativity, it is a non-contest with Cunha averaging 2.02 attempted assists and 0.42 'Expected Assists' (xA) to 0.63 and 0.05 for Wissa.
However, as the below image from our Fixture Difficulty Ratings shows, Wolves are rated top for 'Attack Difficulty' over the next six Gameweeks, which would tilt the scales in favour of Cunha with Brentford ranked ninth for the same.
