In Fantasy Premier League, the top two most costly assets are Erling Haaland (£15.0m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.5m). With their hefty price tags consuming a large chunk of your budget, you'll need to choose wisely each week, as you can only select one of them as your captain.

As the above image from our Assistant Manager feature shows, freeing up £2.5m by downgrading Salah to Saka means that FPL managers can go big at the back with two of last season's most attacking defenders Alexander-Arnold and Gvardiol.
These two can also partner last season's Golden Glove winner, Raya, at the back. As the below image from our AI Rotation Optimiser shows, Dunk and Robinson can be rotated effectively for the first six Gameweeks and this also provides bench depth.
Despite his summer exertions with England, Saka is expected to start for Arsenal in Gameweek 1 and as the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, only Salah outshone him for 'Expected FPL Points' (xFPL) last season amongst midfielders.
As the below image shows, Newcastle are top of the Fixture Difficulty Ratings for 'Attack Difficulty' over the first three Gameweeks which sees Gordon also feature in the XI alongside Eze. Smith-Rowe recently moved to Fulham from Arsenal and is expected to get regular gametime, he could be a bargain at just £5.5m
Despite being the most expensive player in FPL history, Haaland offers the surety of captaincy every week that few others do. Alongside him, Isak can be upgraded to Watkins who was the top scoring FPL forward (228 points) last season and racked up 19 goals with 18 assists.
As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, only Isak (18) was afforded more 'big chances' (BC) than Wood (15) amongst forwards over the last 10 gameweeks of last season. If the Forest man can continue that form, he will be a good asset.
The spend in defence is kept the same as the aforementioned Haaland draft and FPL managers have the option to downgrade Raya to a £4.5m goalkeeper like Flekken and spend the £1.0m on upgrading Dunk to Porro. As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, only the Arsenal trio of White, Gabriel and Saliba managed a higher xFPL score amongst defenders than the Spaniard last season.
The duo of Gordon and Eze remain from the previous draft but Saka and Smith-Rowe are upgraded to Salah and De Bruyne. As the below image from our Fixture Difficulty Ratings feature shows, Liverpool are top for 'Attack Difficulty' over the first six Gameweeks and Salah is a viable captaincy option in four of them. Despite an injury ridden campaign, De Bruyne was still top amongst Man. City players for 'Expected Assists' (xA) (11.62) last season.
Watkins and Wood are joined by Isak up front in this draft. The Swedish international replaces Haaland from the previous draft and as the Stats Sandbox image below shows, only Mateta scored more FPL points than Isak over Gameweeks 30-38 last season.
