FPL Confirms 11 Position Changes for 2026/27 After Accidental Leak

Fantasy Premier League has officially announced 11 player position changes ahead of the 2026/27 season — confirming that yesterday’s accidental leak was accurate.

FPL briefly published and then deleted a graphic featuring Myles Lewis-Skelly, Patrick Dorgu, Junior Kroupi and Omar Marmoush. As we reported at the time, the post appeared to offer an early look at genuine changes planned for the new campaign.

All four players have now been officially reclassified, alongside seven additional changes.

FPL Position Changes for 2026/27

Player | Club | New position | Old position

Myles Lewis-Skelly | Arsenal | MID | DEF

Lamare Bogarde | Aston Villa | MID | DEF

Junior Kroupi | Bournemouth | MID | FWD

Keane Lewis-Potter | Brentford | MID | DEF

Mats Wieffer | Brighton | DEF | MID

Georginio Rutter | Brighton | FWD | MID

Rio Cardines | Crystal Palace | DEF | MID

Ryan Sessegnon | Fulham | DEF | MID

Omar Marmoush | Manchester City | FWD | MID

Patrick Dorgu | Manchester United | MID | DEF

Eric Moreira | Nottingham Forest | DEF | MID

Yesterday’s FPL Leak Was Accurate

The four players included in FPL’s deleted post have all received the position changes shown in the original graphic:

  • Myles Lewis-Skelly: Defender to midfielder
  • Patrick Dorgu: Defender to midfielder
  • Junior Kroupi: Forward to midfielder
  • Omar Marmoush: Midfielder to forward

The confirmation suggests the graphic was posted earlier than intended rather than containing outdated or incorrect information.

However, those were only four of the 11 changes made for 2026/27.

What Do the Position Changes Mean for FPL Managers?

Kroupi’s move into midfield appears to be the most favourable change from an FPL perspective, particularly after his impressive goalscoring campaign.

Sessegnon and Wieffer could also gain appeal as defenders if they continue to receive regular minutes in advanced or wide roles.

The changes involving Dorgu, Lewis-Skelly, Marmoush and Rutter are less helpful. All four will now receive fewer points for goals, clean sheets or both.

Player prices will ultimately determine the significance of each reclassification, but the announcements provide another major clue for managers beginning to assemble their first 2026/27 drafts.
