Caveat : The Captaincy picks are in the below format:
Brighton face a big week in their battle for survival as they host Bournemouth and Cardiff in gameweek 34, and they will be looking to their leading goal-scorer Murray who has scored seven of his 11 goals on home turf, over 15 appearances. He has registered nine shots on target (SoT) and eight ‘big chances’ across those matches and attempted five assists. Although Brighton have only scored four goals in the last six gameweeks, they are a strong side at home with 17 goals scored over 15 home matches, landing 44 SoT. Bournemouth have conceded 13 goals in the last six gameweeks, only Fulham (15) have fared worse. The Cherries allowed 26 SoT and 11 ‘big chances’ over those matches. Their midweek opponents Cardiff have conceded nine goals over the same period, allowing 26 SoT and 16 ‘big chances’. Our Fix Algorithm backs Murray to deliver over the two matches, with a point score of 8.6.
Salah won the game for Liverpool with a late strike against Southampton in gameweek 33, and as the Custom Stats table shows, no midfielder has taken more shots (23) or landed more SoT (10) than the Egyptian over the last six gameweeks. Liverpool have scored 16 goals over that period, more than any other team and their total of 32 SoT can only be bettered by Everton (33), Chelsea (33) and Man. City (39). They have also registered 19 ‘big chances’ over that period, trailing only Man. City (20). Chelsea have been poor travellers of late, the Blues have conceded 16 goals in their last six away matches, more than any other team, allowing 20 ‘big chances’ at an average of over three a game. They have also allowed opponents 37 SoT, the fourth-worst over that period. Our Fix Algorithm backs Salah to get attacking returns with a point score of 6.1.
Spurs will be looking to build on the momentum from their midweek win against Man. City in the Champions League, as they face Huddersfield in gameweek 34. As the Custom Stats table shows, their Danish play-maker leads the way amongst their midfielders for goal attempts (15) and SoT (five). The Dane registered a goal and assist in his last appearance at Spurs’ new stadium against Palace, and although Spurs have only scored five goals in the last six gameweeks, they have been a tad unfortunate, hitting the woodwork twice. Only six sides attempted more shots than their 73, and they have created a chance every 6.5 minutes. Huddersfield conceded four goals to Leicester in gameweek 33, taking their total to 13 goals conceded in the last six gameweeks, only Fulham (15) have conceded more. They have allowed opponents 19 ‘big chances’ over those matches, only and West Ham were more generous (24). Our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 6.8 for the Dane.
