Chelsea, Man. City, Wolves and Liverpool are projected to have the best prospects of a clean sheet in gameweek 14 which means Alonso, R. James, R. Dias, Sa and Alexander-Arnold are the standout picks in defence. R. James and Alexander-Arnold are joint-top for chances created amongst defenders (11) for the last four gameweeks while Alonso managed a whopping 16 crosses in gameweek 13. Only Chelsea (nine) have allowed opponents fewer shots in the box (SiB) (13) than Man. City over the last four matches.
Norwich (20) are the only team to have registered fewer SiB than Burnley (32) in away matches this season, so the prospects of a Sa clean sheet in between the sticks looks likely too.
Salah is the most popular captain choice amongst our Elite XI and is also the highest projected scorer this week as per our Fix Algorithm. As the Stats Sandbox image below shows, his teammate Jota has been on fire with three goals over the last two gameweeks and no player has registered more 'big chances' than the Portugal international (five) over that period.
Gündogan has taken five SiB over the last two gameweeks and only Salah (six) and Jota have fared better amongst midfielders.
Spurs (2.1) and Newcastle (1.9) are projected to score favourably and our Predicted Lineups feature has both Kane and C. Wilson at 100% to start. Both take penalties for their sides and are likely to be involved in the points should their teams get on the scoresheet.
