Fantasy Football Fix 20 Oct. 2022

Caveat - This blog was written prior to the games on 20th October 2022

Headliner - Erling Haaland (BHA)

Haaland will be raring to go after Man. City had a rare free midweek due to the postponement of their game against Arsenal in gameweek 12, and the Norwegian international is top amongst all players in the league for goals (five), shots (19) and shots on target (SoT) over the last six gameweeks. He is also top amongst forwards for 'big chances' created (five) and averages 13.6 points per home game as per our Fix Heatmaps image below. Man. City are also top for goals scored (13) and SoT (30) over the aforementioned period. Their visitors Brighton have conceded six goals over as many gameweeks and have kept just one clean sheet. Only Everton (10), Southampton (12), Liverpool (15) and Fulham (19) have allowed opponents more 'big chances' than the Seagulls (nine). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 7.2 for Haaland.

Mohamed Salah (nfo)

Salah (15) only trails Maddison (16) and Bowen (17) for shots amongst midfielders and is also ranked third for shots in the box (SiB) (11). As the Stats Sandbox image below shows, no midfielder has been afforded more 'big chances' than the Egyptian international (five). Liverpool have scored seven goals over the last six gameweeks with only Arsenal, Spurs (10 each), Newcastle (11) and Man. City (13) being more prolific. No side has fashioned more 'big chances' than their 14 over that time. Their hosts Forest have conceded nine goals over the same period with only Wolves (10) and Fulham (11) more porous. Meanwhile, Fulham (27) and Spurs (30) have allowed opponents more SoT than Forest (25). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 7.1 for Salah.

Gianluca Scamacca (BOU)

Scamacca has found the back of the net twice over the last six gameweeks and only Kane and Haaland (19 each) have taken more shots amongst forwards than his 16. He has been afforded four 'big chances' with only Watkins, Jesus (five each), Toney and Kane (six each) faring better. He has also created five chances which is only bettered by Haaland (seven) and Kane (eight). As the below image from our Fixture Analyser shows, West Ham have a great run of games until the World Cup so it is a good time to bring in the Italian international. The Hammers have scored six goals over as many gameweeks and are top for both shots (82) and SiB (58). Only Liverpool (14) have fashioned more 'big chances' than the Hammers (13) over that period. Their opponents Bournemouth have conceded just five goals over the last six gameweeks but have only kept one clean sheet. The Cherries are ranked 14th for both shots conceded (70) and SoT conceded (23). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 3.7 for Scamacca.
