Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 22

FPL Headliner: Hugo Ekitiké (BUR)

Ekitiké was back in the Liverpool squad for their FA Cup clash against Barnsley on Monday and the French international marked his return with a goal and assist off the bench.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, despite missing the last two games due to injury, he is still ranked fourth for shots (16) and sixth for shots in the box (13) amongst forwards over the last six Gameweeks.

Liverpool have scored eight goals over the last six Gameweeks (11th), the Merseyside outfit are ranked ninth for shots (77) and 11th for xG (9.17).

Their visitors Burnley have conceded 11 goals over the same period, only West Ham (14) and Bournemouth (16) have fared worse. The Clarets are ranked bottom for shots conceded (102) and 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (13.65).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Ekitiké is projected to score 6.2 points this Gameweek.

Top FPL Forward: Erling Haaland (mun)

Haaland has found the back of the net just three times over the last six Gameweeks, but will be looking to add to that tally as they face their Derby rivals Man United at Old Trafford.

The Norwegian international is still ranked top for shots (26), shots in the box (21) and 'big chances' (10) over the last six Gameweeks, while only Šeško (12) has landed more shots on target than his 11.

As shown in the image below from our Player Heatmaps feature, Haaland has averaged 7.4 FPL points per match in away games this season.

Man City have scored 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks (sixth), the Manchester side are ranked third for shots in the box (68) and second for xG (13.38).

Their hosts Man United have conceded 10 goals (16th) over the aforementioned period and have kept just one clean sheet, the Red Devils are ranked seventh for shots conceded (72) and third for xGC (7.59).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Haaland is projected to score 6.0 points this Gameweek.

Best FPL Midfielder: Morgan Rogers (EVE)

Rogers has racked up an impressive 40 FPL points over the last six Gameweeks — the joint sixth-most of any player.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, the England international trails only Cunha (25) for shots (21) amongst midfielders over that period and he is fourth for shots on target (seven).

Meanwhile, only Cherki (seven) has created more 'big chances' than his four.

Villa have scored 11 goals over the last six Gameweeks, only Arsenal (12), Bournemouth (13) and Brentford (14) have been more prolific. The Midlands side are ranked seventh for shots on target (26) and ninth for xG (10.51).

Their visitors Everton have conceded eight goals over the same period (eighth) and have kept two clean sheets. The Toffees are ranked 18th for shots conceded (91) and 13th for xGC (11.17).

Best Budget Midfielder: Harry Wilson (lee)

With three goals and as many assists, Wilson is joint-top for FPL points amongst midfielders (40) over the last six Gameweeks alongside Rogers.

The Welsh international is ranked fourth for shots (18) and second for shots on target (eight) over that period. He has also created three 'big chances'.

Fulham have scored 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks (sixth), the Cottagers are ranked 10th for shots (75) and 13th for xG (8.62).

Their hosts Leeds have conceded eight goals over the same timeframe (eighth) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Promoted side are ranked 10th for shots conceded (76) and ninth for xGC (8.91).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Bruno G. is projected to score 4.0 points this Gameweek.

Top Defensive Asset: Daniel Ballard (CRY)

Ballard has notched three FPL attacking returns this season (two goals, one assist) and is joint-top for 'big chances' (six) amongst defenders. He trails only J.Timber (3.29) for xG (2.64).

Sunderland have conceded just five goals over the last six Gameweeks (fourth) and have kept three clean sheets. The Black Cats are ranked 12th for shots in the box conceded (55) and 15th for xGC (11.54).

Their visitors Palace have scored just two goals over the last six Gameweeks, the fewest in the division. The Eagles are ranked 18th for shots on target (17) and 12th for xG (8.85).
