Key Fantasy Premier League Trends Ahead of the Deadline
With the Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 30 deadline approaching, transfer activity across FPL is ramping up quickly. By analysing the most popular transfers, we can see which players are driving the biggest changes in squads.
Several clear trends are emerging:
Understanding these moves can provide valuable insight for your own FPL Gameweek 30 strategy.
The transfer market in Fantasy Premier League is currently being driven by several highly owned players attracting huge numbers of new owners, as shown in the Transfer Analytics tool.

João Pedro is comfortably the most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 30, with 336,009 managers bringing him into their FPL teams.
His appeal is easy to understand:
He also features heavily in the most common transfer combinations, showing that many managers are restructuring their forward line around him.
Another clear trend in Fantasy Premier League transfers is the popularity of mid-priced midfielders.
Players such as Elliot Anderson (143,623 transfers in) and Semenyo (133,342 transfers in) are attracting significant interest. Both offer strong underlying numbers and good fixtures, making them appealing picks.
Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes (137,477 transfers in) continues to attract managers looking for a reliable premium midfielder ahead of Aston Villa (H).
Defenders are also being targeted, with Timber (108,831 transfers in) and Kelleher (107,249 transfers in) both climbing quickly in ownership.
While several players are gaining popularity, others are being rapidly sold across Fantasy Premier League, as shown in the Transfer Analytics tool.

Morgan Rogers is currently the most transferred-out player in FPL, with 254,228 managers selling him ahead of Gameweek 30.
Despite promising attacking involvement earlier in the season, recent returns have dried up, and Aston Villa face a difficult fixture away to Manchester United.
Many managers appear to be moving towards cheaper midfield alternatives who offer stronger short-term fixtures.
Defenders are also being sold in large numbers:
Much of this is driven by fixture difficulty and injuries, with Van de Ven facing Liverpool and the other two defenders currently flagged.
Perhaps the most notable trend in Fantasy Premier League transfers is the continued selling of Erling Haaland, with 155,120 managers moving him on.
The main reason appears to be Manchester City’s blank in Gameweek 31, which has encouraged many managers to redistribute funds across their squads. His recent output has also been relatively underwhelming by his usual standards.
We explored this in more detail in a recent article, Should You Sell Haaland? The Best Forward Alternatives, where we also looked at what an optimal team could look like without the Norwegian forward.
Looking at the most common transfer combinations across FPL in the Transfer Analytics tool gives even more insight into how managers are restructuring their teams.

The single most popular move is:
Haaland ➝ João Pedro (3.6%)
This transfer frees up a huge amount of budget while replacing Haaland with a forward who is currently in strong form.
It highlights a clear budget redistribution trend in Fantasy Premier League.
The second most common move is:
Roefs ➝ Kelleher (3.3%)
This appears to be largely injury-driven, with Roefs unavailable and managers opting for a reliable replacement with solid fixtures.
Another popular premium downgrade is:
Haaland ➝ Ekitiké (2.7%)
This move again allows managers to free up funds, suggesting that many FPL managers are choosing squad depth over a single expensive forward.
The fourth most common transfer:
Rogers ➝ Anderson (1.9%)
This reflects Anderson’s growing appeal as a budget midfielder with strong DEFCON potential.
