FPL Gameweek 2 Captain Picks

Bruno Fernandes (IPS)—Highest-Projected Scorer

Bruno Fernandes’ form at Old Trafford was exceptional last season. Among midfielders in home matches, he ranked first for FPL assists (12), attempted assists (81) and FPL points (235), while placing third for Expected Goals (xG, 7.15).

Manchester United scored 69 goals last season, with only Arsenal (71) and Manchester City (77) finding the net more often. The Red Devils also ranked first for both shots (596) and shots on target (216).

Their visitors, Ipswich, conceded 30 goals away from home in the Championship, ranking ninth, and allowed Sunderland 1.03 xG in Gameweek 1.

Manchester City scored 32 goals in away matches last season, the joint-highest total alongside Chelsea. City also ranked first for shots (283) and fifth for xG (33.88) on their travels.

Their hosts, Crystal Palace, ranked eighth for goals conceded last season (51) and kept 12 clean sheets. The Eagles also ranked seventh for shots conceded (447) and 12th for Expected Goals Conceded (xGC, 60.07).
