The FA Cup quarter-finals are now complete, and the Double Gameweek picture is clear. Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea, Leeds and Man City will all have a Double Gameweek 33 before blanking in Gameweek 34.
For FPL managers who still have their Wildcard, Bench Boost and Free Hit chips available, this could be the ideal time to play the FPL Wildcard and build a squad that is set up to maximise points over the next three Gameweeks.
In this guide, we use Fantasy Football Fix’s AI-powered Assistant Manager tool to build the best FPL Wildcard team for Gameweek 32, with a focus on Double Gameweek 33, Blank Gameweek 34 and the best chip strategy for managers looking to optimise their FPL Wildcard..
The AI-powered Assistant Manager tool helps you create a fully tailored FPL team based on your own strategy.
Whether you want to exclude specific players, load up on midfielders, or experiment with different formations, this smart tool adapts to your preferences.

As shown in the image above, FPL managers who still have their Free Hit chip available can afford to ignore Blank Gameweek 34 when building their Algorithm squad.
Instead, the focus can be placed firmly on maximising points in Double Gameweek 33 with a Bench Boost, taking full advantage of what is set to be the biggest Double Gameweek of the season.
Once your criteria is set, the Assistant Manager generates an optimised FPL team designed to maximise points.
For FPL managers looking to Bench Boost in Double Gameweek 33, getting defenders capable of Defensive Contribution (DEFCON) points is crucial.

As the above image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows - Hill, Gabriel, Senesi and Van Hecke are in the top 10 defenders for DEFCON over the last eight Gameweeks.
Meanwhile, no defender has scored more goals over the aforementioned period than O'Reilly (three). Man City are also likely to have another double Gameweek against Palace soon so it is crucial to get their picks in place.
Four of the aforementioned five defenders play twice in Double Gameweek 33.

As the image above from our AI Rotation Optimiser shows, for managers planning to Bench Boost in Gameweek 33 and Free Hit in Gameweek 34, a rotating goalkeeper pairing of Verbruggen and Darlow offers strong value for the run-in, with favourable fixtures against Wolves, Burnley and West Ham.
As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, Palmer is top amongst midfielders for goals scored (five), shots on target (nine), 'big chances' (six) and 'Expected Goals' (xG) (4.78) over the last seven Gameweeks.

B. Fernandes (3.22) and Semenyo (2.67) also make the top five after scoring three goals apiece.
No player has attempted more assists (33) or created more 'big chances' (eight) than the Portuguese international over that period. Although he does not have a Double Gameweek 33 fixture, he still looks a strong pick due to Man Utd’s favourable fixtures afterwards.
FPL managers opting to sell him and buy him back will likely have to pay significantly more as well.
Tavernier is included with Bournemouth playing Newcastle and Leeds in Double Gameweek 33, as the below image from our Match Centre feature shows over the Cherries' last five matches he is top amongst their players for xG (1.7), shots on target (six) and attempted assists (nine).

No Brighton midfielder has played more minutes than Groß (540) over the last six Gameweeks, the German international is also the Seagulls' most creative midfielder with two FPL assists and 11 chances created. Two of the Seagulls' opponents over the next two Gameweeks Burnley (13.34) and Spurs (13.02) are ranked 20th and 19th for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC)
Haaland reminded FPL managers of his quality with a hattrick against Liverpool in the FA Cup, as the below image from our Optimal Player Rotation Strategy shows, the Norwegian international is the standout captaincy option in two of the next five Gameweeks.

João Pedro (164) is second only to Haaland (197) for FPL points amongst forwards, as the Stats Sandbox image below shows the Brazilian international is top amongst all forwards for shots (25), 'big chances' (11) and xG (6.54) over the last six Gameweeks.

Leeds have a difficult fixture against Man United in Gameweek 32 but once that fixture is out of the way, the Yorkshire side are top of the Fixture Difficulty Ratings for 'Attack Difficulty' from Gameweek 33-38 (assuming Free Hit in Gameweek 34) which makes their penalty taker Calvert-Lewin a great pick.

13 of the 15 players in the squad have a Double Gameweek 33 fixture, which makes this an excellent opportunity to play the Bench Boost chip.
It may be tempting to replace Gabriel and B. Fernandes with Double Gameweek players as well, but both rank top for FPL points in their respective positions and could still deliver heavily from Gameweek 35 onwards. It would also likely cost far more to bring them back in later.
The draft also features five likely penalty takers and a strong defence with plenty of DEFCON potential.

The Assistant Manager tool lets you build your own custom Wildcard draft using FPL AI. You can prioritise certain positions, rotate defenders for fixtures, chase differentials, or tailor the squad to your own management style. Your perfect FPL Wildcard team may only be a couple of smart tweaks away.
