DraftKings fantasy football is very similiar to Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but does not require full-time commitment like FPL as it offers year round games that you can play as little or as much as you want.

Here are our fix standout selections for the DraftKings' gameweek five daily contest (Saturday 15th September):

GK / Cech / $5,700

While Cech has conceded nine goals in just six games this season it has been just four goals across his last four games, when you exclude the opening two games and five goals conceded against Man. City and Chelsea. Once again though, we like to concentrate on the amount of saves Goalkeepers are making given how the DraftKings' point scoring system works. The shot-stopper is averaging 4.33 saves per games which is scoring his owners over 8 points alone (2 points per save). He also comes in at a very reasonable price when compared to the other Goalkeepers eligible for Saturday’s contest and with a DraftKings' fantasy points per game (FPPG) score of 10.2 so far this season that puts him on par with other DraftKings’ favourite, Ederson. Our Fix predicted points & stats feature suggests Arsenal have a 37% chance of a clean sheet, which places them ahead of Newcastle, Chelsea, Leicester, West Ham and Fulham who all have Goalkeeper’s featuring in Saturday’s contest. For additional informative data on Goalkeepers, see our bespoke DraftKings’ custom stats table here.

D / Doherty / $5,000

Last week we backed budget gem, Wan-Bissaka, who duly delivered the goods for his DraftKings’ owners. So far he has been weighing in with very impressive performances and is currently averaging 7.2 FPPG in DraftKings which is better than other pricier options in Rose (6.1), Davies (4.9) and his counterpart Jonny’s 6.5. The Wolves right-back is posting some lovely numbers versus other standout selections for Saturday’s contest as shown in our custom stats’ table built for DraftKings’ scoring criteria below. Given that the DraftKings’ scoring format allows you to score 1 point per shot and 1 points per shot on target (SoT) the respective scores of 9 and 5 (equating to 14 points) demonstrates why he has been scoring solidly. He is also joint-sixth for clean sheets among this list of 12 players. For more data like this you can access this custom stats table here.

M / Sterling / $8,600

Sterling looks to be the pick of the bunch across all positions this weekend given his handsome price tag and great underlying numbers. With DraftKings awarding 1 point for a shot and a further 1 point if it is on target, Sterling looks to be a selection we should all be squeezing into our lineups this week. The England international has managed just two less SoTs than Salah and Mané but has played in one less game and has a far more favourable fixture. No other standout selection below can rival the City attacker for shots and his number of actual goals scored is far closer to his ‘expected goals’ xG total, with some other selections seemingly over-performing meaning they could regress to their mean. Brighton look likely to concede goals in this one according to our predicted points & stats feature giving that the coastal team have a miserable 5% chance of keeping a clean sheet. Man. City are expected to score 3.27 goals according to the same feature, which is miles ahead of second ranked Arsenal with 2.52. For more comparisons to other outfield players see our custom stats table created specifically for DraftKings here.

F / Agüero / $10,300

Agüero will eat up a fair bit of your budget in this week’s contest. In fact, no other player is more expensive than the Argentinian forward this week. Agüero has averaged more shots per 90 mins (with 5.16) than any other standout selection, as can be seen in the info-graphic below of our custom stats’ table  for DraftKings’ scoring criteria. DraftKings offers 1 point per shot, and an additional point for a SoT, so this bodes well for Aguero’ owners with his respective 31 and 10 stats. Looking across the same players shown below, the Man. City forward is also first for expected assists with a total of 1.9 over the first six games, and first for interceptions with three which provide owners with 6 and 1 point respectively. Agüero is a selection that looks good particularly as Brighton have such bad projected statistics via our predicted points & stats feature.

Average salary per player; $7,400

How to play DraftKings Fantasy Football

For those unaccustomed to this fantastic daily cash game, you are required to select eight players with a $50,000 salary cap. The structure is as follows;

GK -- D x2 -- M x2 -- F x2 -- UTIL (utility player)

The utility player can be either a D (Defender), M (Midfielder) or F (Forward) and will score points in the same way as the other selections. However, you will notice your budget has been spread thin, so, this is all about finding a hidden gem that could score well. For example, a defender that is not typically a big scorer but is playing against a team that struggle to score, therefore heightening the chance of (clean sheet, tackles won, passed intercepted etc.) points.

The format allows you the luxury of entering into a variety of contests including beginner tournaments/leagues, head to heads (against one other opponent), 50/50s (where you win if you finish in the top half) and many more.

The full scoring breakdown is as follows:
