Born in Kingston upon Hull, England in 1997, James is a product of the Hull City Academy who joined Swansea City in 2014. He made his debut first team debut in February 2018 for the Welsh side in the Championship and went on to make 33 appearances for the Swans, scoring four goals. Man. Utd signed the youngster in the 2019/20 Summer Transfer window for a fee of £15 million and he struggled to nail down his spot in the team for the duration of his spell. He made a total of 50 appearances for the Red Devils, many of them as a substitute, scoring six goals. After narrowly missing out on the youngster in the January 2019/20 window, Leeds got their man for a fee of £25 million.
A speedy winger capable of playing on either flank, D. James could never truly display his true potential at Man. Utd due to inconsistency of starts. He is unlikely to displace either Harrison or Raphinha from the wings initially but given that Leeds have parted ways with Poveda and Costa, he is still likely to see gametime off the bench. Bielsa is known to be a coach that improves the ability of his players so he is the right man to tap D. James potential and in time, he could become a great Fantasy Premier League (FPL) option but for now, a wait and watch approach is suggested.
