Martinelli has racked up 31 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points over the last four gameweeks, only Tierney (33) and Alexander-Arnold (36) have scored more across all positions. His numbers are compared to the more popular Saka using our Fix Heatmaps feature.

Both midfielders are occupying advanced positions as can be seen looking at the Touch Maps above but it is noticeable that Saka is having a greater presence in the penalty box. The England international is having more touches overall too, with 209 compared to Martinelli's 174. Martinelli appears to be doing a bit more defensive work as per the Heatmap, and the fact that he has managed 10 tackles to Saka's six would back this up.

A look at the underlying numbers indicates that Saka (14) is taking more shots than Martinelli (eight), but what stands out is that the latter has racked up 2.06 Expected Goals (xG) to the former's 1.28. Martinelli is averaging 0.56 xG per game to Saka's 0.33 so the chances that the Brazilian is getting are of significantly better quality.

The pair are tied for attempted assists with nine apiece but Saka has created two 'big chances' to Martinelli's zero so in terms of creativity, the England international has the edge.

Martinelli's ceiling appears to be much higher than Saka's due to his superior goal threat and he is a great option with Arsenal playing Norwich in gameweek 19.
