How to Choose an FPL Team

Once you sign up or log in to the Fantasy Premier League website, you’ll be prompted to select your FPL team. You have a budget of £100m to spend on 15 players. Each player has a price based on their potential to earn points, which is influenced by their performance history, likelihood of starting matches, and the strength of their team.

Allocating Your Budget in Fantasy Premier League

Player pricing is designed to prevent managers from simply picking the 15 best players, so you’ll need to be strategic with your budget. This is where your football knowledge and using fantasy football fix's tools and content will be invaluable.

You won't be able to fit in too many high value players, so look for undervalued asset (those who are affordable but have the potential to score high points).

You’ll select 11 starting players and have four on the bench. Your team will include:

  • Two goalkeepers
  • Five defenders
  • Five midfielders
  • Three forwards

Fantasy Premier League warning of too many players from one team

Fantasy Premier League rules allow you to select a maximum of three players from any one Premier League team, so you can’t fill your squad with just Arsenal players, for example.

Your bench is used only if one of your starting players doesn’t play. Arrange your bench in order of preference, placing the player with the best upcoming fixture as number one so they are the first to be subbed in.
