Kane and Son both played around 2500 minutes in the 2019/20 season and Kane was clearly the primary goal threat with 18 goals to the South Korean's 11. The latter notched 10 Opta assists as well as three Fantasy Assists while Kane managed only two. They took the same number of shots (82) but Kane was far more clinical. They scored similarly in FPL with Kane's 158 being bettered by Son (169)

Kane and Son were both excellent FPL assets in the 2020/21 season with 242 points and 228 points respectively. The England international notched 23 goals to the South Korean's 17 and beat him for assists as well (14 to 11). Kane (138) took double the number of shots (69) as Son and the pair were tied for 'big chances' created (14). Son's additional point for a clean sheet or goal helped him stay within just 14 FPL points of Kane.

2021/22

Son really came to the fore as an FPL asset in the 2021/22 season when Conte decided to play him in an 'out-of-position' striker role. The South Korean scored more goals (23 to 17) while Kane took on a more creative role with 18 'big chances' created to the South Korean international's 10.

How are their fixtures?

Spurs are ranked eighth on the Fixture Planner for the first six gameweeks but a large reason for that is their gameweek two fixture against Chelsea where they failed to score both home and away last season. However, the Blues have seen major players depart from their backline this summer and have struggled in preseason. So, this fixture may not be as difficult as it appears on paper.

How do they compare to the other Premiums?

As the above image from our Comparison Matrix shows, Salah was top for FPL points (7.6), goals (0.7), assists (0.4), shots (4.0), shots on target (SoT) (1.7) and 'big chances' (1.1) last season. Kane's shooting numbers came close to the Egyptian international, he averaged 3.6 shots and 1.5 SoT. Son's shooting numbers were significantly lower with 2.5 shots and 1.4 SoT and it is a testament to the South Korean's finishing ability that he notched 23 goals. He was also the second-most creative player in the comparison with 2.1 chances created to De Bruyne's 2.9. Finally, in terms of 'big chances', the Spurs‘ pair averaged 0.9 per game compared to 1.1 for Salah.
