Kane is a popular transfer target for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers with the double in gameweek 20 and in this blog his numbers are compared to Núñez over the last six gameweeks using the Fix Heatmaps feature.
Kane has scored 45 points over the last six gameweeks at an impressive average of 7.5 points per game while Núñez has managed 30 points at an average of 5.0. Both strikers have got consistent minutes over that period with the Uruguayan international now a regular in Liverpool's starting lineup.
Kane has a tendency to drop deeper and link up play which is exhibited in the above Touch Map. He is still getting plenty of touches in the penalty area and there appears to have been a tweak in Spurs' strategy to enable Kane to get into the box more than last season. Núñez has more penalty box touches and does drift to the left-wing on occasion but is more of a penalty area poacher than the England international.
The 'Average Defensive Radar' is quite similar for both players but Núñez' attacking radar appears to be more impressive than Kane's in all metrics except the most important one - goals scored.
The Total Statistics back up what was seen on the radar, Núñez beats Kane for 'Expected Goals' (xG) (4.61 vs 2.03), shots (27 vs 19), shots on target (SoT) (13 to seven), shots in the box (20 vs 16) and also attempted assists (10 to seven), which is usually Kane's strong suit. His end product is nowhere near as good as Kane's who has scored five goals to his two.
Liverpool are bottom of the Fixture Planner over the next six gameweeks with away games against Brighton, Wolves and Newcastle over the next six gameweeks while Spurs are eighth with games against Fulham, Leicester and West Ham in addition to the double in gameweek 20.
Kane (34.6) is second only to Haaland (56.2) for point projections over the next six gameweeks while Núñez is in sixth at 25.2. The Uruguayan international trails several cheaper forwards such as Nketiah (27.7) and Mitrovic (25.4).
Based on the above analysis, moving Núñez for Kane this week appears to be a good move.
