Fantasy Football Fix 21 Oct. 2021

Caveat - Picks are in below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Mohamed Salah (mun)

Salah scored his seventh goal of the season in gameweek eight and over the last four gameweeks no midfielder has been more prolific than the Egyptian who has scored four goals. He is also top for shots (17), shots on target (SoT) (10) and 'big chances' over the aforementioned period. No team has scored more goals than Liverpool (13) over the last four gameweeks and the Reds are also top for SoT (26) and 'big chances' (17). Their opponents Man. Utd have conceded seven goals over the same period, only Palace, Leicester (eight each), Watford and Spurs (nine each) have shipped more. Only Watford (22), West Ham (23) and Palace (25) have allowed opponents more SoT than their 20. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.9 for Salah.

Jamie Vardy (bre)

Vardy has scored five goals over the last four gameweeks, no player across the league has scored more over that period. As the Opta Stats Sandbox image below shows, the 34-year old is top amongst forwards over that period for shots in the box (SiB) (14) and 'big chances' (four) while only Kane (seven) has landed more SoT than this six. Leicester have scored nine goals over the last four gameweeks, only Liverpool (13) have scored more. Their total of 67 shots is only bettered by Man. Utd (76) while only Liverpool and Man. Utd (each 26) have landed more SoT than their 23. Their opponents Brentford have conceded just five goals over the last four gameweeks but the Bees are ranked 15th for 'big chances' conceded (nine) with only Villa, Norwich, Watford, Palace (all 10) and Southampton (11) faring worse. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.4 for Vardy.

Heung-Min Son (whu)

Son has found the back of the net twice over the last four gameweeks and the South Korean has taken seven SiB over that period, only Bowen (10), Sarr (11) and Salah (14) have fared better amongst midfielders. Only Salah and Sarr (each five) have been afforded more 'big chances' than his four. As the below image from our FPL Statistics feature shows, he is still a differential option with less than 10% ownership amongst the Top-10k and Top-1k managers. Spurs have scored six goals over the last four gameweeks and are ranked sixth for 'big chances' (eight). West Ham have conceded just five goals over the last four gameweeks but the underlying numbers indicate they have been a tad fortunate. No team has allowed opponents more SiB than the Hammers (42) while only Palace (25) have conceded more SoT than their 23. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 4.2 for the South Korean.
