Agüero found his fourth goal of the season during the win over Cardiff in gameweek six and managed six efforts at goal, with three shots on target (SoT). Our Custom stats table indicates that no player has taken more than the Argentine’s 31 shots this season beating Mitrovic, with 28 and Salah, with 25. His 22 shots inside the box (SiB) is also a league-high total and only Mitrovic has managed to topple his 10 SoT with a total of 12. The Man. City forward has been a strong captaincy option at home this season, with seven of his eight Fantasy Premier League (FPL) involvements so far coming at the Etihad in games against Huddersfield, Newcastle and Fulham. In fact, in his last 10 starts at the Etihad, the Argentinian has been involved in 17 goals (14 goals 3 assists). Their opponents Brighton were the worst away side in the league last year, and are without a win in their last 16 away games, scoring just seven goals in that period. The Seagulls have allowed their opponents 60 SiB in their six matches so far, shipping 11 goals in that period, with only West Ham, Burnley and Fulham conceding more. With Man. City posting a league high 55 SoT, the Fix Algorithm expects the Argentinian to prosper, with a point score of 7.0.
Richarlison returned from suspension to face Arsenal in gameweek six and stood out as the most threatening player for Everton, taking three shots and forcing good saves from Cech on two occasions. Amongst midfielders only Mahrez and Knockaert had more SoT in gameweek six with three. The Brazilian is averaging 1.3 SoT per game this season which ranks sixth best amongst all midfielders behind the likes of Sterling, Pogba, Mané and Salah, with the Egyptian ranking first on 1.7 per game. Richarlison’s average of 0.8 FPL involvements per game is on par with Sterling and Salah and can only be beaten by Lamela (1.0) and Hazard (1.2) amongst midfielders. Fulham’s defensive stats offer the Brazilian plenty to be optimistic about. The Cottagers have allowed their opponents a league-high 43 SoT, and have conceded 13 goals, only Cardiff and Huddersfield have conceded more. With a high scoring encounter expected at Goodison park, our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 4.3 for the Brazilian winger.
Man. City secured an emphatic 5-0 away win over Cardiff in gameweek six and that saw Sterling register his fourth attacking return of the season. As the table shows, over the last four gameweeks Sterling’s nine attempted assists is just one fewer than what D. Silva and Salah have produced, while only Hazard has directly contributed to more goals amongst midfielders, with five FPL involvements in total. Nine SiB from the 23-year-old over that same period is on par with the Belgium international and only Salah has managed more amongst midfielders, with 12. Salah, Hazard, Sterling and Mané have all produced six SoT over the last four gameweeks and only Schürrle has produced more from midfield, with eight. Man. City are by far the league’s most potent attack, averaging a ‘chance created’ every four minutes. To put that into context, Liverpool, who have scored the second most goals so far have created a chance evey six minutes. Since the start of last season 20 teams have scored five or more goals and Man. City have accounted for eight of those. Can the champions make that nine this weekend? Our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 4.9 for the English winger.
Jiménez has been directly involved in 50% of his team’s goals this season (three of the six), including a goal and assist in the last two gameweeks. 18 goal attempts by the Mexican international ranks third best amongst forwards and can only be beaten by Mitrovic, with 28 and Agüero, with 31. Similarly, his eight SoT ranks joint-fifth amongst forwards, level with Kane and Deeney and only Jesus, Lukaku (nine), Agüero (10) and Mitrovic (12) have taken more. Over the last four gameweeks Jiménez has fired off nine SiB a total which is beaten by just four strikers and Mitrovic is the only one priced at 7.0 or below. Wolves also post impressive attacking stats. They have attempted 89 shots, the fourth highest in the league, more than traditional ‘top six’ sides such as Arsenal, Tottenham and Man. United. Their opponents Southampton endured a torrid afternoon vs. Liverpool last gameweek shipping three goals and were fortunate not to concede more. The Saints have allowed their opponents 54 SiB and 14 ‘big chances’, and are in the bottom eight for both statistics. Jiménez should find plenty of opportunities to get on the score sheet, and our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 3.4 for the Mexican striker.
Trippier delivered his third attacking return of the season against Brighton last weekend, winning a penalty which was calmly converted by Kane. Over the last five gameweeks the nine attempted assists by the right-back is joint-first amongst defenders along with Robertson and more than any of his Spurs’ teammates, beating Eriksen with eight. Set pieces have been a key factor with Trippier taking 20 corners across the last five gameweeks, compared to Eriksen’s four. Three FPL involvements by the England defender in the last five gameweeks can only be beaten by Duffy who has four and Alonso who has five when looking at defenders. Their opponents Huddersfield have struggled to score goals so far, only managing three in their last six games. They have had just 28 SiB which is the lowest in the league and have managed only 13 SoT, one more than Cardiff’s 12. The Terriers lost both their games against Spurs last season, conceding six and scoring none. Our Fix Algorithm predicts Spurs to have the highest probability of a clean sheet in gameweek seven, tied with Man. City and a point score of 5.2 for the right-back.
