GW35 Top Three Captaincy Picks

Fantasy Football Fix 18 April 2019

Caveat : The Captaincy picks are in the below format:

  • Number one pick predicted as per the Fix Algorithm
  • Differential pick (Under 25% ownership)
  • 'Out there' pick (Under 15% ownership)

Sergio Agüero (TOT/mun)

Man. City will be looking to avenge their midweek Champions League exit as they face Spurs for a third time in 10 days, and they will look to their frontman who has taken 12 shots and landed five shots on target (SoT) over the last six gameweeks, despite playing only four games. It is also worth noting, the Argentine created five chances in those matches. The Champions have scored 11 goals in the same period, with only Leicester (12) and Liverpool (13) managing more. Their total of 113 goal attempts is second only to Chelsea’s 119. Their first opponents across the double are Tottenham, who have conceded five goals in the last six gameweeks, allowing 12 SoT and 12 ‘big chances’. Up next, Man. United, who have conceded eight goals in the same period, keeping no clean sheets, and have allowed 19 SoT. Our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 9.3 for the Argentinian.

Christian Eriksen  (mci/BHA)

Eriksen has been in fine form of late, with a goal and three assists in his last three league matches. Over the last six gameweeks, only Salah (24) has taken more shots than the Dane’s 19 amongst midfielders. Eriksen also tops the chances created table amongst midfielders in the last six gameweeks, with 20 and three of these were ‘big chances’. Spurs have scored nine goals in the same period, and only five teams have landed more SoT than their 25. Spurs first fixture is daunting as Man. City have only conceded two goals in the last six gameweeks, but as the midweek Champions League fixture showed, the North London club are capable of scoring at the Etihad. Their second opponents Brighton are expected to be far more obliging. The Seagulls have conceded 12 goals in the last six gameweeks, allowing opponents 23 SoT and 11 ‘big chances’. Our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 8.5 for Eriksen.

Gerard Deulofeu (hud/SOT)

Deulofeu missed Watford’s clash with Arsenal in gameweek 34 but is expected to return to the Hornets’ starting line-up for this weekend, especially given Deeney’s suspension. As the Custom Stats table shows, although the Spaniard has only played 211 minutes in the last six gameweeks he has taken seven shots, four of which were in the box and four SoT. And during this run he had a chance every 30.1 minutes, an impressive return. To put that into context, Doucoure has only managed eight shots at an average of just one every 56.3 minutes. Watford have scored eight goals in the last six gameweeks, taking 54 shots and landing 23 SoT. Huddersfield have conceded 17 goals over the same period, more than any other team. Only West Ham (21) have allowed opponents more ‘big chances’ than the Terriers’ 20. Their second opponents Southampton have conceded eight goals in the aforementioned period benefitting from just one clean sheet, and have allowed opponents 19 SoT. Our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 8.4 for the Spaniard.
