Fantasy Football Fix 2 July 2020

Caveat: The gameweeks added to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) for the re-launch are listed as GW32+, GW33+ and are referred to as GW41, GW42 respectively throughout the Fix website.
This blog was written prior to the matches on 02/07/2020

Picks are always in the below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Mohamed Salah (AVL)

With 15 goals at Anfield this season, no player has been more prolific on home turf than the Egyptian. The next highest scoring midfielder Mané managed only 10. He tops the Stats Sandbox tables for shots in the box (SiB) (52), shots on target (SoT) and ‘big chances’ (16). No team has scored more goals than Liverpool’s 44 in home matches this season. The Reds lead the way for SoT (44) and only Man. City (55) and Chelsea (56) created more ‘big chances’ than their 54. Villa have yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this season, conceding 33 goals, the worst away defence in the league. Only West Ham (50) allowed opponents more ‘big chances’ than their 48. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 8.2 for Salah.

Bruno Fernandes (BOU)

The Portuguese’s brace against Brighton in gameweek 32 took his total to three since the resumption of the league, no midfielder has scored more. Only Maddison (12) has taken more shots than his 11 and he is top for SoT with six. As the Fixture Analyzer shows, the Red Devils have the best fixture run for the next five weeks making B. Fernandes a great long term pick. Man. Utd. have scored seven goals since the restart, only Newcastle (eight) and Man. City (nine) have been more prolific. Only Arsenal (19) and Man. City (21) have landed more SoT than their 18. Bournemouth have been in wretched form since the restart, shipping seven goals. Only Norwich (eight) have fared worse. Only Chelsea (seven), Man. City (eight) and Sheff. Utd. (nine) have allowed opponents more ‘big chances’ than their six. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 6.2 for the Portuguese.

Christian Pulisic (WAT)

Pulisic has been in strong form since the restart with four Fantasy Premier League (FPL) involvements (two goals, two assists). Only Foden, Martial, Willian and Bruno (all three) have scored more goals amongst midfielders since the restart. He has taken six SiB over those three matches with only Antonio (seven), Davis and Richarlison (both eight) faring better. The American is a popular transfer target this week and his price is expected to go up soon as per our Price Change Predictor feature. Chelsea have scored six goals since the restart, only Man. Utd, Arsenal (both seven), Newcastle (eight) and Man. City (nine) have been more prolific. They top the table for ‘big chances’ (nine) and only Villa (34) have taken more SiB than their 33, with the Villans having played an extra game. Their opponents Watford have conceded five goals over the same period, only West Ham, Sheff. Utd (both six), Bournemouth (seven) and Norwich (eight) have conceded more. They have conceded six ‘big chances’ over their three matches with only Chelsea (seven), Man. City (eight) and Sheff. Utd. (nine) faring worse. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 4.3 for Pulisic.
