Fantasy Football Fix 25 June 2020

Caveat: The gameweeks added to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) for the re-launch are listed as GW31+, GW32+ and are referred to as GW40, GW41 respectively throughout the Fix website.
This blog was written prior to the matches on 25/6/2020

Picks are always in the below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Raul Jiménez (avl)

Jiménez has been on fire since the restart with two goals in as many games, no forward has scored more. Those two strikes have taken his total to 15 for the season and only Ings, Agüero (both 16), Aubameyang (17) and Vardy (19) have scored more amongst forwards. Over the last two matches, only Aubameyang, Joelinton (both five) and Calvert-Lewin (six) have taken more shots in the box (SiB) than the Mexican’s four. Only Calvert-Lewin (five) landed more shots on target (SoT) than his three. He also created two chances. Wolves have scored three goals since the restart, only Newcastle, Man. United, Liverpool (all four) and Man. City (eight) have scored more. Wolves have landed eight SoT and created two ‘big chances’ over those two matches. Villa have conceded three goals over the same period and will be desperate for points after just two from a possible nine since the restart. Only Sheff. Utd (41) have allowed opponents more shots than the Villans’ 37. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.6 for Jiménez.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (NOR)

The Arsenal forward has yet to find the back of the net since the restart but it is worth remembering this is a player who has scored 17 goals so far this season, and he is only behind Vardy (19) amongst forwards. As the Stats Sandbox shows, over their two matches, he has taken nine shots and no player across all positions has taken more. Calvert-Lewin (19.9) is the only player that has a better rate of minutes per chance than Aubameyang’s 20.0 and three of these shots were on target. Arsenal only managed three shots in total during their game against Man. City after going down to 10 men, but their numbers against Brighton in their second game were much more encouraging where they managed 13 shots, six of which were on target. Their opponents Norwich look destined for the drop having conceded four goals in their two games without scoring. Only Arsenal (17) and Sheff. Utd (20) have allowed opponents more SoT than the Canaries’ 13. Our Fix Algorithm currentlyprojects a point score of 4.9 for the Gabon international.

Anthony Martial (bha)

The Frenchman netted his first career hattrick against Sheff. Utd. in gameweek 31+ and with a supply line of B. Fernandes and Pogba behind him, more goals are surely around the corner. He is now up to 14 goals for the season, only Mané (15) and Salah (17) have scored more amongst midfielders. Since the restart, no midfielder has scored more goals (three), taken more SiB (six), landed more SoT (four) or been afforded more ‘big chances’ (four) than the Frenchman. A popular transfer this week, he is predicted to go up in price soon as per our Price Predictor feature. Only Man. City (eight) have scored more goals than the Red Devils’ four over the last two gameweeks and they trail only their cross-town rivals for SoT (12 vs 19) and ‘big chances’ (seven vs eight). Their opponents Brighton have conceded only a solitary goal over the last two matches but the underlying numbers indicate they have been a tad fortunate. Only Palace (20), Norwich (21), Arsenal (22) and Sheff. Utd. (30) have conceded more SiB than the Seagulls’ 16. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 4.8 for Martial.
