GW27 Top Three Captaincy Picks

Fantasy Football Fix 20 Feb. 2019

Caveat : The Captaincy picks are in the below format -

  • Number one pick predicted as per the Fix Algorithm
  • Differential pick (Under 25% ownership)
  • 'Out there' pick (Under 15% ownership)

Felipe Anderson (FUL)

The Hammers will be looking to get back to winning ways as they welcome Fulham to the London Stadium in gameweek 27 and will be relying on their Brazilian talisman to engineer their attack. As the Fix Match Preview feature shows, over the last five gameweeks, Anderson has created 11 chances, more than any teammate, with three of these deemed ‘big chances’. Over their last six home games, West Ham have fired in 35 shots on target (SoT), the fifth-highest in the league and the most of any side outside the ‘top six’. Their opponents Fulham have conceded 32 goals in their 13 away matches, the worst in the league. They have allowed opponents 151 shots in the box (SiB) and 80 SoT, only Burnley (170 SiB and 85 SoT) have been more obliging. The Cottagers have also conceded 45 ‘big chances’ on their travels, more than any other team. Our Fix Algorithm backs Anderson as the top pick this week with a point score of 6.3.

Heung-Min Son (bur)

Spurs visit a revitalised Burnley outfit and since his return from the Asia Cup, Son has scored three goals in three games, with 14 shots, topping both metrics for midfielders in that time-frame. Only Pogba, Salah and Hazard (five) have taken more SoT than the South Korean’s four. Spurs have been the most prolific away team in the league, scoring 30 goals in their 13 away matches. They have registered 62 SoT in those matches and only three teams registered more. Burnley’s results have improved of late but their defensive stats still present plenty of reasons to back the midfielder. The Clarets have conceded 22 goals in their 13 home matches, only Cardiff (23) and Fulham (26) have shipped more. They have allowed opponents 187 shots, the worst in the league, and only Cardiff (62) and Fulham (74) have allowed opponents more SoT on their own turf than Burnley’s 61. Our Fix Algorithm backs the Spurs' man to keep delivering with a point score of 4.6.

Salomon Rondon (HUD)

Newcastle host bottom of the table Huddersfield, a fixture where Benitez may adopt a more attacking approach and their Venezuelan striker is our ‘out-there’ pick this week. As the Custom Stats tableshows, over the last four gameweeks Rondon has taken 10 SiB and created six chances, ranked seventh amongst forwards in both metrics. Newcastle have scored six goals in their last four matches, with 40 shots and 25 SiB in those games. Their opponents Huddersfield have conceded 11 goals in their last four matches and only Chelsea (12) have been more porous. They have allowed opponents 41 SiB, the fourth-worst in the league in that period and only Chelsea (14) have allowed opponents more ‘big chances’ than their 12. Our Fix Algorithm predicts a point score of 4.4 for the Venezuelan.
