Southampton completely dominated Norwich in the first game of gameweek 27, winning 2-0. The hosts registered an 'Expected Goals' (xG) figure of 2.46 compared to just 0.41 for their visitors and landed nine shots on target (SoT). The Canaries landed just a solitary shot on target and the Saints deserved their clean sheet.

Adams was the standout performer for Southampton with his four shots accumulating 1.17 xG. He landed just one of his attempts on target and could have had a bigger haul on another day. Elyounoussi also stood out with three shots and 0.41 xG. S. Armstrong took a whopping seven shots and attempted four assists as well but these were all speculative attempts from long range as his xG total of just 0.32 shows. Popular option Broja registered an xG of just 0.21 from his three shots. In defence, Walker-Peters was the standout performer with two SoT and two attempted assists. His ability to play on either side is a huge plus heading into a busy period for Southampton. None of the Norwich players' numbers are worth mentioning with Hanley (0.12) their top xG performer.

The numbers in the Match Stats image above indicate that Man. Utd deserved more from their game against Watford, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw. The Red Devils registered a whopping 2.61 xG compared to just 0.46 for their visitors, but it immediately stands out that they landed just three of their 22 SoT. Poor finishing let them down again and with a tough run ahead, things are looking grim for the Manchester side.

Owners of B. Fernandes can consider themsleves hugely unlucky not to get any attacking returns from this game. The midfielder took eight shots, the most of any player this gameweek so far and also created two chances. His xG figure of 1.16 coupled with an 'Expected Assists' (xA) total of 0.46 indicates owners deserved a big haul. Ronaldo hit the woodwork and was generally wasteful as well, testing the keeper with only one of his four shots. Dennis was Watford's standout performer with 0.16 xG.

Man. City got their title charge back on track winning to nil (0-1) against The Toffees. The reigning Champions registered an xG of 2.02 compared to 0.55 for their hosts and landed eight SoT. Everton could only muster two SoT and were perhaps unlucky to be denied a penalty late on.

Foden (1.44) accounted for a significant chunk of Man. City's total xG (2.02). The 21-year old landed two of his three shots on target and scored the winning goal. B. Silva posted decent numbers as well, he attempted two assists and took three shots with an xG of 0.33. Sterling was completely anonymous with zero shots and just one attempted assist. De Bruyne landed two SoT but his xG of 0.08 indicates these were speculative attempts. Richarlison was Everton's standout performer, he landed two SoT and registered an xG of 0.31.
