xFPL is calculated primarily using expected goals (xG), assists (xA), which combine as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) involvements (xG + xA = xI), as well as expected clean sheets (xC). These numbers are a result of underlying statistics (i.e. shot type and location will give a probability of scoring = xG). xFPL is the combination of these statistics and factors in appearance and bonus points to give an overall expected FPL point score.
Iheanacho tops the Custom Stats xFPL table for gameweek 22 so far with a score of 10.8. The Nigerian international scored one of his two 'big chances' and also created two 'big chances' with no player registering more goal involvements (three) so far. Rashford is top for both shots (seven) and shots in the box (SiB) (six), he attempted no assists and registered an xFPL score of 7.6. Budget forward Undav caught the eye for Brighton, no player was afforded more 'big chances' (three) and he also attempted two assists. His xFPL score of 8.8 indicates that he was unlucky not to register any goal involvements. Gnonto owners can also count themselves unlucky, the 19-year-old was top for chances created (five) and notched an xFPL score of 3.6.
As the above image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, despite the lack of a double in gameweek 23 and a confirmed blank in gameweek 25, Mitoma tops the transfer-ins with over 150,000 managers bringing him in already. Saka is the most popular Arsenal asset, the 21-year-old has been brought in by nearly 100,000 managers already and gone up in price. Despite his 59th minute substitution, Mahrez is the most transferred-in Man. City asset ahead of their double in gameweek 23 with Ødegaard close behind in fourth. Cancelo continues to be sold after his move to Munich with Ake getting most of the traffic and Rodrigo is being sold in droves as well after his injury. Martinelli has been sold by nearly 100,000 managers with 12% of his owners switching him to either Saka or Ødegaard. Three of the top midfielder transfers involve selling Almiron for Mahrez, Ødegaard or Saka.
Several managers swapped De Bruyne for B. Fernandes and are planning to reverse the move keeping in mind the Belgian international's double in gameweek 23 but the above image from our Fix Heatmaps feature indicates that they may be better off going for Mahrez instead. Since the restart, the Algerian international has beaten the Belgian for goals (0.51 vs 0.00), 'Expected Goals' (xG) (0.36 vs 0.09), shots on target (0.85 vs 0.77) and assists (0.51 vs 0.38). De Bruyne is slightly ahead in terms of 'Expected Assists' (xA) (0.44 vs 0.48) but the significantly higher goal threat from Mahrez swings it in his favour.
