Headliner – Raheem Sterling (MUN)

Sterling failed to get on the scoresheet despite putting in an excellent performance against Burnley in gameweek 15 and the winger continues to post impressive numbers. As the Stats Sandbox shows, his 14 shots in the box (SiB) over the last six gameweeks is beaten only by Richarlison (15) and Pulisic (21) amongst midfielders and only Mané (seven) has been afforded more ‘big chances’ than his five. Man. City looked back to their best as they put four past Burnley in gameweek 15 and the defending Champions have now scored 14 goals in the last six gameweeks, with only Liverpool (16) and Leicester (19) scoring more. Man. United have conceded nine goals over the same period, keeping zero clean sheets. The Red Devils have allowed opponents 27 shots on target (SoT) and 12 ‘big chances’ over those matches. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 6.3 for Sterling.

Jamie Vardy (avl)

Vardy continued his scoring streak with his goal against Watford taking his total to 14 for the season and no forward has scored more than his eight goals over the last six gameweeks. He is also top for SoT (14) and ‘big chances’ (13) with only Jiménez (24) attempting more SiB than his 20 amongst forwards. As the FPL Statistics feature shows, he is now owned by 99.1% of the top 1000 players. In fact, no team has scored more than Leicester’s 19 goals over the last six gameweeks and they also lead the way for SoT (47) and ‘big chances’ (26). Villa have conceded 11 goals over the same timeframe, keeping just one clean sheet. While no team have allowed opponents more shots than their 120 and only Brighton (16), Norwich (17), Southampton (21) and West Ham (22) have allowed opponents more ‘big chances’ than their 15. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 5.9 for Vardy.

Dele Alli (BUR)

The appointment of Mourinho has seen an upturn in form for Alli and since the outspoken Portuguese man’s appointment in gameweek 12, no midfielder has scored more goals than his three. As the Fix Heatmaps feature shows, he has averaged 9.7 points per game (PPG) under Mourinho and he is ranked fifth for SiB (seven) amongst midfielders with only Pérez, Grealish, Richarlison (all eight) and Pulisic (nine) faring better. His total of five SoT is beaten only by De Bruyne (six) and he is also joint-first for ‘big chances’, with three. Spurs have scored seven goals under Mourinho and only Man. City (eight) and Liverpool (nine) have scored more. The North London club have created 10 ‘big chances’ with only Burnley (11) and Leicester (14) fashioning more. Burnley have conceded 13 goals over the last six gameweeks, keeping only one clean sheet. Only Everton (14) and Southampton (17) have conceded more goals over this period. They have allowed opponents 75 shots and 31 SoT. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 4.4 for Alli.

Tammy Abraham (eve)

Abraham scored on his return to the Chelsea team in gameweek 14 and only Rashford (five) and Vardy (eight) have scored more goals than his three over the last six gameweeks. He is a popular transfer in this week as per our Transfer Stats feature, with only Alli seeing more transfers. Despite missing a game, he is ranked seventh for SiB amongst forwards with 12 and only A. Barnes (seven), Wood (eight), Rashford (nine) and Vardy (13) have been afforded more ‘big chances’ than his five. Chelsea have scored 11 goals over the last six gameweeks and only Man. Utd (13), Man. City (14), Liverpool (16) and Leicester (19) have scored more. They have landed 39 SoT while only Liverpool (40), Man. Utd (44) and Leicester (47) have fared better. Everton have conceded 14 goals over the last six gameweeks, keeping no clean sheets. Just Southampton (17) have conceded more goals. They have also conceded 15 ‘big chances’ and only Brighton (16), Norwich (17), Southampton (21) and West Ham (22) have been more obliging. Lampard eased concerns about his fitness for gameweek 16 and expects him to be available.

“It doesn’t seem too bad in there, so I’m presuming that he’s alright.” Frank Lampard, 6th December.

Serge Aurier (BUR)

Mourinho’s appointment has seen Aurier flourish in a more attacking role and the right-back has notched two assists in the last three gameweeks, only Alexander-Arnold (three) has notched more amongst defenders. He has created four chances over that period, with only Alexander-Arnold (seven) and Digne (nine) creating more. He is also joint-first for SoT with two. Although Spurs have conceded six goals in their last three gameweeks, the fact that they have conceded a league low of one ‘big chance’ in total across those matches gives reason to be optimistic about their clean sheet prospects. Burnley have scored nine goals in the last six gameweeks but have only taken 63 shots, the eighth-lowest over that period. Our Fix Algorithm projects a 30% chance of a Spurs clean sheet and a point score of 4.0 for Aurier.
