GW12 Top Three Captaincy Picks

Fantasy Football Fix 18 Oct. 2022

Caveat - Picks are in the below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Mohamed Salah (WHU)

Salah has only found the back of the net three times this season but has strong underlying numbers. Only Son, Martinelli (each 27) and Maddison (29) have taken more shots amongst midfielders than his 26, while he is top for 'big chances' (eight). Liverpool have scored 21 goals with only Spurs (22), Arsenal (24) and Man. City (33) scoring more. Their total of 117 shots in the box (SiB) and 27 'big chances' is only bettered by Man. City (122 and 39). Their visitors West Ham have conceded 11 goals and have kept two clean sheets. They have decent defensive numbers, the Hammers are ranked sixth for shots conceded (107) and third for 'big chances' conceded (four) but they have a lot of injuries at the back with Zouma, Dawson and Ogbonna all doubtful at the time of writing. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 6.4 for Salah.

Harry Kane (mun)

Kane (nine) only trails Haaland (15) for goals scored this season and the Norwegian international (44) is the only player to have taken more shots, or been afforded more 'big chances' (11 to 18) than his 38 amongst forwards. No forward has created more chances (20) than the England international. He is rated at 100% to start as per our Predicted Lineups feature which is significant given the short turnaround between matches. Spurs have scored 22 goals with only Arsenal (24) and Man. City (33) being more prolific. They only trail Arsenal (61) and Man. City (67) for SoT (60). Their hosts Man. Utd have conceded 15 goals and have kept three clean sheets. The Red Devils are ranked 11th for shots conceded (130) and eighth for Sot conceded (38). Kane has only blanked once this season and our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 5.0 for the 29-year-old.

Leandro Trossard (NFO)

Trossard's total of five goals is only bettered by Foden (six) amongst midfielders while only Bowen, Saka (20 each) and Salah (21) have taken more SiB. As the Stats Sandbox image below shows, he has been afforded six 'big chances' with only Sterling (seven) and Salah (eight) being afforded more. Brighton are ranked 10th for goals scored (14) with only Brentford, Liverpool (27 each) and Man. City (39) fashioning more 'big chances' than the Seagulls (26). Their visitors Forest have conceded 23 goals with only Leicester (24) more porous. No side has allowed opponents more SoT than Forest (57). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 4.8 for Trossard.
