GW11 Top Three Captaincy Picks

Fantasy Football Fix 30 Oct. 2019

Caveat - Picks are in below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Raheem Sterling (SOU)

Sterling registered only his second goal at home this season against the Villans in gameweek 10 and the visit of a beleaguered Saints side offers room for optimism. No midfielder has registered more shots than Sterling’s 33 this season and only McGinn (14) and Salah (16) have landed more shots on target (SoT) than his 12. He remains top for ‘big chances’ amongst midfielders with 12. No team has scored more goals (32), landed more SoT (79) or been afforded more ‘big chances’ (48) than the defending Champions this season and they lead the league for xG (expected goals) by some distance with 28.09. Saints nine goal hammering at the hands of the Foxes means they are now bottom of the table for goals conceded (25). They are also third-worst for ‘big chances’ conceded with 28 and only West Ham (30) and Norwich (32) have been more generous. Our Fix Algorithm backs Sterling to get on the scoresheet again with a point score of 8.7.

Sadio Mané (avl)

Mané registered his third assist of the season against Tottenham last gameweek and the league leaders will need to keep their momentum going when they visit Villa Park in gameweek 11. Only Richarlison (16), Salah (25) and Sterling (30) have taken more shots in the box (SiB) than Mané’s 18 this season amongst midfielders and as the Stats Sandbox shows, he is also ranked third for ‘big chances’ with nine. The Senegalese international has attempted 18 assists so far this season, the ninth-highest amongst midfielders. Only Man. City (32) and Leicester (25) have scored more goals than Liverpool’s 23 this season and the Reds’ are second only to Man. City for ‘big chances’ (33) and SoT (66). Villa have allowed opponents more shots (187) than any other team in the league and they are also bottom for SiB conceded (121). Only Sheff. Utd (25), Watford (25), Southampton (28), West Ham (30) and Norwich (32) have allowed opponents more ‘big chances’ than their 23. Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 4.8 for the Liverpool attacker.

Neil Maupay (NOR)

Maupay converted his spot kick against Everton to take his total to four goals for the season. Only Aguero (30), Abraham (31) and Firmino (32) have taken more shots than his 29 amongst forwards and these have not been speculative efforts. 25 of the 29 shots were SiB and only Abraham, Aguero (both 26) and Firmino (27) have taken more. Brighton have scored eight goals in their five home games this season and as the Team Stats feature in the Stats Sandbox shows, only Arsenal (54), Chelsea (55), Liverpool (76) and Man. City (82) have taken more SiB on home turf than their 48. They are also fifth for ‘big chances’ in home matches with 11. Norwich have kept just one clean sheet this season and only Southampton (25) have conceded more goals than their 24. The Canaries are bottom of the league when it comes to SoT conceded (68) and ‘big chances’ conceded (32). Our Fix Algorithm projects a point score of 4.3 for the Brighton forward.
