GW10: Differential Focus

5 Oct. 2022

If you are the sort of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) manager who enjoys going against the grain – or takes satisfaction from finding hidden gems before the crowd – then lowly selected players (differentials) can often provide value and offer a source of points which won’t be shared by many other managers. As long as the player picks are justifiable, differentials can give you an edge over your mini-league rivals.

In this article we look ahead to Gameweek 10 and find players from each position who are currently selected by less than 10% of managers, but could reward their owners in the upcoming gameweeks.

If you are in the market for a differential goalkeeper, then a good option could be Fulham’s Bernd Leno (£4.5m), who is about to embark on a decent run of fixtures from a defensive perspective, facing some of the poorest attacking teams between now and Gameweek 14.

Of the budget goalkeeping options, Leno is amongst the top for Saves Per 90 (4.3) and, if you exclude the Newcastle game (for which they spent the majority with 10 men, conceding four during that time) they are performing better defensively than all the newly promoted teams, as well the likes of Southampton and Manchester United.
