Erling Haaland (shu)

Last year's Golden Boot winner, Haaland is joint-top for goals scored amongst forwards this season (two), he has taken eight shots in the box (SiB) with only Wissa (nine) and Edouard (10) taking more. He is only ranked sixth for ‘Expected Goals’ (xG) amongst forwards (1.12) over the first two matches this season but was top for 'Expected Goals' (xG) (28.94) and SiB (115) last year. Man. City have scored only four goals in the first two games and have taken 31 shots (seventh) with a cumulative 3.41 xG (10th). However, it is worth remembering their numbers from the previous campaign, where they were top for goals scored (94), ‘big chances’ (BC) (132) and xG (77.1). Sheff. Utd. conceded 19 goals in home matches last season, only Burnley were more frugal (15). They were ranked fourth for ‘Expected Goals conceded’ (xGC) (20 .1) in home matches. They have allowed opponents 26 SiB in their opening two matches, only Bournemouth, Fulham (both 29) and Man. Utd. (31) have allowed more. Bukayo Saka (FUL)

Saka opened his account for the season with a goal against Forest in Gameweek 1, only Eze (nine) has taken more open play shots amongst midfielders than his six over the first two Gameweeks. As the Stats Sandbox image below shows, his total of 11 assists last season was only bettered by Salah, Trossard (12 each) and De Bruyne (16) while he was also ranked fifth for chances created (75). The Gunners have only scored three goals in their first two matches but it is worth remembering their numbers in home matches last year, only Man. City (60) scored more goals in home matches than their 53. The London side were ranked fourth for xG in home matches (40.73) and top for shots (354). Fulham have only conceded three goals so far but have ridden their luck. They are bottom for xGC (6.08) while only Man. Utd. (31) have allowed opponents more SiB than their 29. Yoane Wissa (CRY)

Wissa has started the season strong for Brentford in Toney's absence with two goals in his first two matches. No forward has taken more shots (10) or landed more attempts on target (five), he is also top for xG (1.62). As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, over 650,000 FPL managers have brought him in this week so he will not remain a differential for too long. Brentford have scored two goals over the first two matches, only Brighton (eight) have been more prolific. Their total of eight BC is bettered only by Newcastle (nine) and Brighton (11) while the Bees are second for xG (5.23) only to the Seagulls (6.79). Their visitors Palace have conceded only a solitary goal over the first two matches and are ranked fifth for SiB conceded (22). However, the Eagles are ranked seventh for xGC (2.83) and Wissa should find plenty of opportunities to find the back of the net. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 4.3 for Wissa.
