The FPL Wildcard Gameweek 4 conversation is gathering pace, with two Elite XI: Team Reveal managers activating the chip and a third seriously considering it.
Tarek Balbaa, Matt Corbidge and Lari Ahti have recorded 20 top-10k finishes between them, so how they approach their Gameweek 4 squads should provide plenty of inspiration for Fantasy Premier League managers.

| Manager | FPL Record | Current Plan | Key Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tarek Balbaa | 10 top-10k finishes | Wildcard Activated | Protecting team value while retaining future flexability |
| Lari Ahti | 4 top-10k finishes | Wildcard Activated | Chasing price rises now and making final decisions later |
| Matt Corbidge | 6 top-10k finishes | Wildcard or Free Hit | Haaland or bigger investment in midfield |
There are already some clear areas of agreement. Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, João Pedro and Ezri Konsa feature in the current thinking of all three managers.
Erling Haaland is part of both confirmed Wildcard managers' early plans, but his price creates the biggest structural question for Matt:
Select Haaland or use the money to build a stronger premium midfield?
These are early drafts rather than final recommendations. The full squads, formations, benches and captaincy choices can be tracked live through Elite Team Reveals.

Tarek has activated his Gameweek 4 Wildcard partly to protect team value. With several players in his previous squad falling in price and some of his targets expected to rise, he believes waiting could have created a swing of almost £1.0m.
His current structure includes Haaland, Palmer and João Pedro, but one of the most interesting features is the £2.4m left in the bank.
This would give him the option to move from Palmer to Bruno Fernandes for Manchester United's Gameweek 5 meeting with Fulham.
Tarek says he is still undecided on five or six places, with several midfield and defensive combinations under consideration. He plans to monitor the midweek matches before settling on his final squad.
His live draft could therefore be a valuable guide to both the best Gameweek 4 picks and how to preserve flexibility for future transfers.

After using his Bench Boost early, Lari believes Gameweek 4 is the right time to reshape his squad rather than continue carrying money across all 15 positions.
Haaland, Palmer, João Pedro, Konsa and Riccardo Calafiori form the early core, but Lari has stressed that even those selections are not guaranteed while midweek matches are still to be played.
“For now: chase value, gather information, decide late.”
That makes notifications particularly important: the draft visible now could look very different by the Gameweek 4 deadline.

Matt is yet to commit to the Wildcard and is also considering the Free Hit.
If he does activate the Wildcard, his biggest decision will shape the entire squad:
Build around Haaland or spread the budget across a stronger midfield.
Palmer, Rogers and João Pedro are prominent in his provisional plans, while the defence is likely to draw from Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs, Crystal Palace and Leeds.
Matt is also weighing up how heavily to invest in Arsenal's defence, with Gabriel a key part of that decision. His final chip call and squad structure remain open, so his live team reveal is the best place to follow how the decision develops.

Three themes stand out from the early drafts:
There is agreement on several strong picks, but no single settled template. That is why the final changes made by these proven managers could be more revealing than their early-week drafts.
All three managers' plans could change before the Gameweek 4 deadline. Midweek performances, price changes and late team news may all influence their final selections.
