Cherki has risen twice this gameweek, reflecting his explosive start to the season. He came off the bench against Bournemouth in Gameweek 1, playing just 27 minutes but still bagging eight points. He then started against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 2, playing 82 minutes and racking up an outstanding 14 points as Man City won 4-1. That gives him 22 points from two gameweeks. His next three fixtures look very kind, with Coventry at home followed by Sunderland away, making him an attractive FPL asset.
De Cuyper had a stunning Gameweek 1, scoring 17 points as Brighton beat Aston Villa 4-0 at home, keeping a clean sheet in the process. Gameweek 2 was tougher, conceding four at Chelsea in a 4-3 defeat, which brought him back to earth with zero points. At £4.7m he remains a budget-friendly option, and his next two fixtures against Leeds and Coventry are both easy on paper.
Ajayi has been a pleasant surprise for those who took a punt on Hull City's defence. He scored 14 points in Gameweek 1 as Hull beat Man Utd 2-0 at home, keeping a clean sheet. He followed that up with six points and another clean sheet in a 1-0 away win at Coventry City. At just £4.1m, he is one of the cheapest FPL price changes of the day and offers solid value for those looking to free up funds elsewhere.
Watkins has not started in either of his two Gameweek appearances so far, coming off the bench against Brighton in Gameweek 1 and again against Arsenal in Gameweek 2, scoring zero points on both occasions. His lack of minutes is a real concern for FPL managers. He does have an easy fixture coming up against Hull at home in Gameweek 3, which could be a chance to prove his worth, but his bench role makes him hard to trust right now.
