Alex Iwobi tops the Custom Stats xFPL table for Gameweek 7 with a score of 13.4. The Nigerian international attempted five shots, four of which were in the box. He also attempted three assists, two of which were classified as big chances created by Opta.

Yoane Wissa was top for shots in the box this Gameweek (six) after attempting just three over the last four Gameweeks. However, none of the DR Congo international's attempts were classified as a big chance and he registered an xFPL score of just 4.2.
No player attempted more assists than Florian Wirtz (nine) this Gameweek, one of which was converted by Víctor Muñoz. Interestingly, none of these nine attempted assists were classified as a big chance created by Opta which meant a low xFPL score of just 4.3.
Aston Villa’s summer signing Johan Manzambi now has four attacking returns in his last three appearances (two goals and two assists) following his goal against Newcastle. The Swiss international attempted three shots in the box, created two chances and recorded an xFPL score of 8.3.
The expected FPL points (xFPL) model estimates how many points a player’s performance was likely to produce. The calculation uses underlying data including expected goals, expected assists, expected clean sheets, appearance points and projected bonus points.
It is best used to assess the quality of a player’s performance rather than simply looking at his final FPL score.
Pascal Groß is the most-bought player ahead of Gameweek 8. Over 150,000 managers had transferred him in at the time of writing, according to our Transfer Analytics tool.

Despite his omission from the starting XI in Gameweek 7, Rayan Cherki is the second most-bought player, with nearly 150,000 transfers in.
Marcus Tavernier is also a popular pick after scoring against Sunderland, while ownership of Maxim De Cuyper and Morgan Rogers continues to rise.
At the other end of the market, injuries to Dominic Szoboszlai and Antoine Semenyo have prompted more than 400,000 transfers out between them.
Bruno Fernandes and Yoane Wissa are also being sold in droves following multiple blanks, while Joško Gvardiol is another popular departure after only featuring as a substitute against Ipswich.
Selling Yoane Wissa is the priority this week for FPL managers with Wissa to Calvert-Lewin (32.3%) the most popular transfer across all positions.

7 of the top 10 forward transfer combinations involve selling the DR Congo international with the other three selling Gonzalo García.
Evanilson, Alexander Isak, Nicolas Jackson and João Pedro are some of the other forwards being bought.
The midfielder transfers are more scattered with no combination accounting for more than 6%.
Marcus Tavernier, Johan Manzambi and Bryan Mbeumo are all popular targets after finding the back of the net in Gameweek 7.
Meanwhile, Morgan Gibbs-White is on the chopping block after missing out against Arsenal. However, Oliver Glasner indicated that the England international could be available for their fixture against Ipswich in Gameweek 8.
Dominic Szoboszlai and Antoine Semenyo are obvious transfers out given their injuries, but FPL managers seem to have lost faith in Josh King, Harvey Barnes and Martin Ødegaard after consecutive blanks.
Six of the top 10 most popular defender transfers involve selling Gvardiol with Bobby Thomas, Riccardo Calafiori, Maxim De Cuyper, Jean Paul van Hecke and Jayden Bogle some of the popular targets.
Lewis Hall, Virgil van Dijk and Issa Diop are also being sold with Kristoffer Ajer and Jérémy Jacquet popular replacements.
Tavernier and Manzambi both scored in Gameweek 7 and are great differentials ahead of attractive fixture runs with both players currently under 10% ownership.

As the above image from our Player Heatmaps feature shows, Tavernier has averaged 6.0 FPL points per game since the start of the season which is impressive.
Meanwhile, Johan Manzambi started his first game for Aston Villa in Gameweek 5 and has averaged a whopping 9.7 FPL points per game over that period.

As the Average Statistic per 90 mins numbers above show, Manzambi is ahead of Tavernier for shots (2.49 vs 5.48), shots in the box (1.56 vs 3.91) and attempted assists (1.87 vs 2.74).
Tavernier has the edge for big chance created (0.47 vs 0.39) which indicates that he is creating better quality chances.
The numbers indicate that Manzambi is the superior option but it remains to be seen how Unai Emery manages the youngster's minutes around European fixtures, while Tavernier is likely to start every game for the Cherries.
