With Gameweek 6 approaching, smart Fantasy Premier League managers know the value of differentials.
Most teams share the same “template” picks, so the way to climb the rankings is by backing low-owned players who can deliver big hauls.
We’ve identified five standout options, all owned by fewer than 10% of managers, who could provide the spark you need this week.
Our strategy balances attacking potential with defensive coverage:
⚽ 3 attackers – midfielders or forwards with goal threat
🛡️ 2 defensive players – defenders or goalkeepers with clean sheet upside
This ensures coverage across the pitch while prioritising attacking points, essential for Gameweek success.
GW6 Fixture: Crystal Palace (A)
GW6 Predicted Points: 3.9
Liverpool signed Isak on the back of a standout season at Newcastle, where he scored 23 goals (the most of any forward), provided 6 assists, and picked up 36 FPL bonus points, according to the Opta Stats Sandbox.
Now at Anfield, he’s pushing for a regular starting spot — and with Ekitiké suspended after Liverpool’s midweek League Cup tie against Southampton, the door could open for him in Gameweek 6.
A home clash with Crystal Palace, looks like the perfect stage for Isak to announce himself with his first big haul.
GW6 Fixture: Burnley (H)
GW6 Predicted Points: 4.7
After a frustrating 2024/25 campaign, Phil Foden finally reminded FPL managers of his explosive potential in Gameweek 4 with a 12-point haul against Manchester United.
A glance at the England international’s 2023/24 stats in the Opta Heatmaps tool highlights just how valuable he can be in Fantasy Premier League.
Next up for City is Burnley at home — a side leaking chances for fun, having already faced 96 shots this season (25 more than Brentford in second).
It’s exactly the type of fixture where Foden could strike again with another double-digit return. He’s even a tempting differential captaincy option… if you’re bold enough to go against Haaland and his predicted 200%+ effective ownership.
GW6 Fixture: Newcastle (A)
GW6 Predicted Points: 3.7
This recommendation is likely one for Wildcarders — much like the six Elite XI: Team Reveal managers who’ve hit the button this week — rather than a priority transfer.
Arsenal face a tough trip to Newcastle, who have already kept four clean sheets and boast the league’s lowest expected goals conceded (2.90).
The England international returned from injury in Gameweek 5, playing 45 minutes off the bench against Man City, before getting 63 minutes in the League Cup against Port Vale on Wednesday. That suggests he could be in line for a full 90 this weekend.
Looking ahead, Arsenal rank third in the Fixture Planner for attacking difficulty between Gameweeks 7 and 12, with favourable fixtures against West Ham (H, GW7), Burnley (A, GW10), and Sunderland (A, GW11).
GW6 Fixture: West Ham (H)
GW6 Predicted Points: 4.8
Everton’s vice-captain offers far more than just clean sheet potential. Under the new scoring system, his 61 DEFCON actions (clearances, blocks, interceptions, and tackles) make him a consistent points earner with multiple routes to returns.
West Ham have conceded a league-high 13 goals this season, with a staggering seven of those coming from corners — a weakness the Toffees will surely look to exploit.
That gives James Tarkowski the chance to add attacking threat to his DEFCON and clean sheet potential, creating the opportunity for a big haul. It’s no surprise, then, to see him topping the Predicted Points & Stats tool for defenders in Gameweek 6.
GW6 Fixture: Aston Villa (A)
GW6 Predicted Points: 4.4
Aston Villa away used to be a tricky fixture, but the Villans have scored just one goal in their last five matches — from an expected goals tally of only 4.62, the fourth-lowest in the league. Even more concerning, their most recent game was against Sunderland, who played with 10 men from the 33rd minute.
That sets the stage nicely for Joachim Andersen and co. to target a clean sheet this weekend. The Fulham defender is also a DEFCON machine, racking up 56 actions — the fourth-highest among defenders — while being cheaper than his rivals at just £4.5m.
It’s no wonder Matt Corbidge, a manager with six Top 10k finishes, has included Andersen in his latest Wildcard draft — which you can check out now on the Elite XI: Team Reveal tool.
Each of these low-owned options brings something unique to the table:
Differentials are all about upside, not safety. If you’re aiming to climb the ranks in Gameweek 6, these under-the-radar picks could provide the spark your team needs.
