Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 31

Welcome to our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) guide for Gameweek 31!

Each week, we’ll highlight the top picks to help you make the smartest moves for your FPL team.

Here’s what we’ll focus on for each Gameweek:

FPL Headliner: Bruno Fernandes (bou)

B. Fernandes has racked up 45 FPL points over the last six Gameweeks, with only Palmer (47) and João Pedro (48) scoring more across all positions. No player has more FPL assists (four) in that time or has created more chances (30) than the Portuguese international.

He's also top for 'big chances' created (eight) and 'Expected Assists' (xA) (3.37), while his 10 FPL Bonus Points are also a league high over the aforementioned period.

Meanwhile, Palmer and Eze (18 each) are the only midfielders to have attempted more shots than his 17.

As shown in the below image from our Player Heatmaps feature, he has averaged 5.4 FPL points per game in away matches this season.

Man United have scored 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks, only Man City (11) and Arsenal (15) have been more prolific. The Red Devils are ranked sixth for shots (93) and fifth for 'big chances' (16).

Their hosts Bournemouth have conceded just three goals over the same period (first) and have kept three clean sheets. However, the Cherries are ranked 14th for shots in the box conceded (56) and 12th for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (10.11).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, B.Fernandes is projected to score 5.0 points this Gameweek.

Top FPL Midfielder: Cole Palmer (eve)

Palmer has found the back of the net five times over the last six Gameweeks, no player has been more prolific across all positions. As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, the England international is top amongst midfielders for shots (18), shots on target (nine), 'big chances' (six) and 'Expected Goals' (xG) (4.74). He is also fourth for xA (1.96).

Chelsea have also scored 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks (third), the London side are ranked second for 'big chances' (21) and top for xG (14.14) over that period.

Their hosts Everton have conceded eight goals over the same period (11th) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Toffees are ranked 14th for shots conceded (83) and 10th for xGC (8.78).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Palmer is projected to score 3.6 points this Gameweek.

Best Midfield Differential: Anthony Gordon (SUN)

Gordon has scored in back-to-back matches for just the second time this season, with the England international benefiting from an ‘out-of-position’ role as Newcastle’s centre-forward.

Over the last six Gameweeks, he is ranked second only to Palmer for shots on target (eight), 'big chances' (four) and xG (2.99).

Newcastle have scored 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks (third), the Magpies are ranked third for shots on target (33) and seventh for xG (10.73).

Their derby rivals Sunderland have conceded nine goals over the same period (14th) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Black Cats are ranked 18th for shots conceded (102) and 17th for xGC (11.41).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Gordon is projected to score 5.2 points this Gameweek.

Top FPL Midfielder: Harry Wilson (BUR)

Wilson returned to the Fulham starting XI after missing Gameweek 29. Among midfielders, only Rice (163), Semenyo (174) and B. Fernandes (176) have scored more FPL points than the Welsh international (143).

He has racked up 82 of his 143 FPL points in home matches this season, significantly ahead of second-placed Iwobi (60). As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, no Fulham player has attempted more shots (36) or landed more attempts on target in home matches (13) than the Welsh international.

Fulham have scored six goals over as many Gameweeks (13th), the Cottagers are ranked ninth for shots (76) and 11th for xG (9.34).

Their visitors Burnley have conceded 11 goals over the same period, only Spurs (14) have fared worse. The Clarets are ranked 16th for both shots in the box conceded (60) and xGC (11.06).

Top Defensive Asset: Mallick Thiaw (SUN)

Thiaw has scored four goals in his debut season for Newcastle, with no defender outperforming him. The German international also leads all defenders for both ‘big chances’ (nine) and xG (5.25).

Newcastle have conceded 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks (16th) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Magpies are ranked 15th for shots conceded (87) and 18th for xGC (12.49).

Their visitors Sunderland have scored just three goals over the same period, the fewest in the league. The Black Cats are ranked bottom for shots (53), 'big chances' (seven) and xG (5.61).
