Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 29

Each week, we’ll highlight the top picks to help you make the smartest moves for your FPL team.

FPL Headliner: Bruno Fernandes (new)

After two consecutive blanks, B. Fernandes delivered for his owners with a goal and an assist against Palace, taking him to 42 FPL points (two goals, four assists) over the last six Gameweeks. Only Semenyo (43) has scored more among midfielders in that period.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, no midfielder has created more chances (22) or notched more assists than his four. While he is ranked third for shots (16) and sixth for 'Expected Goals' (xG) (2.03).

Creativity Stats for Midfielders

Man United have scored 12 goals over the last six Gameweeks, only Liverpool (14) and Arsenal (18) have been more prolific. The Red Devils are ranked top for shots on target (36) and 13th for xG (8.80).

Their hosts Newcastle have struggled defensively and have conceded 15 goals over the last six Gameweeks which is more than any other side. The Magpies are ranked 14th for shots conceded (82) and bottom for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (14.53).

Top FPL Forward: Hugo Ekitiké (wol)

Ekitiké was one of Gameweek 28’s standout performers, registering a goal and two assists. The French international has now converted his strong underlying numbers — over the last six Gameweeks, he ranks second among forwards for shots in the box (15), ‘big chances’ (eight) and xG (4.64).

As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, he is currently the most transferred in player for Gameweek 29.

Transfer Activity for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 29

Liverpool have scored 14 goals over the last six Gameweeks (second), the Merseyside outfit are ranked second for both shots in the box (64) and xG (13.96).

Their hosts Wolves have conceded 10 goals over the same period (12th) and have kept two clean sheets. However, the Midlands side are ranked bottom for shots conceded (108) and 19th for xGC (13.37).

Best Budget Differential: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (BUR)

Dewsbury-Hall has racked up 28 FPL points (one goal, two assists) since his return to the squad in Gameweek 23, no Everton player has managed more over that period.

As the below image from our Match Centre feature shows, he is top amongst their players over the last five league matches for FPL assists, second for goals (one) and attempted assists (seven), while only the forwards Beto (2.1) and Barry (2.7) have managed a higher xG than his 1.0.

Last Five Game Player Statistics for Everton Fantasy Premier League 2025/26

Everton have scored eight goals over the last six Gameweeks (11th), the Toffees are ranked 12th for shots in the box (49) and ninth for xG (9.97).

Their visitors Burnley have conceded 14 goals over the same period, only Newcastle have conceded more. The Clarets are ranked 16th for both shots conceded (88) and xGC (11.80).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Dewsbury-Hall is projected to score 4.9 points this Gameweek.

Top FPL Midfielder: Antoine Semenyo (NFO)

Semenyo's total of 43 FPL points (four goals, one assist) over the last six Gameweeks is top amongst midfielders, the Ghanaian international is also top for shots on target (eight) while only Salah (14) has attempted more shots in the box than his 11.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, he is ranked third for xG (2.87) and has been afforded four 'big chances' with only Sarr, O.Dango (five each) and Palmer (seven) faring better.

Expeted Goals Stats for Midfielders

Man City have scored 12 goals over the last six Gameweeks, the Cityzens are ranked fourth for both shots in the box (57) and xG (11.75).

Their visitors Forest have conceded seven goals over the same period (sixth) and have kept two clean sheets. The Tricky Trees side are ranked sixth for shots conceded (69) and 14th for xGC (10.62).

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Semenyo is projected to score 4.7 points this Gameweek.

Top Defensive Asset: Matheus Nunes (NFO)

Matheus N. has notched 125 FPL points this season, which is sixth amongst defenders. The Portuguese international has seven FPL assists over the season and has hit double-digit scores on five occasions.

Over the last six Gameweeks, he is top amongst defenders for assists (three) while only H.Bueno, Trippier (nine each) and Muñoz (13) have created more chances than his eight.

Man City have conceded just four goals over the last six Gameweeks which is fewer than any other side. The Manchester side are ranked seventh for shots in the box conceded (48) and fourth for xGC (6.99).

Their visitors Forest are top for shots (98) over the last six Gameweeks but have scored only five goals, the joint-fewest in the league. They have created just 11 'big chances' over that period with only Spurs (10), Villa (nine) and Burnley faring worse.
