Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 21

FPL Headliner: Erling Haaland (BHA)

Haaland has now blanked in three consecutive matches, but the Norwegian international remains third among forwards for goals over the last six Gameweeks (4). Only Ekitiké and Calvert-Lewin have scored more in that period, with five goals each.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, the Norwegian international is second for shots in the box (16) amongst forwards and top for both 'big chances' (eight) and 'Expected Goals' (xG) (4.75).

Man City have scored 12 goals over the last six Gameweeks, only Villa and Arsenal (13 each) have been more prolific. The Manchester side are ranked third for shots in the box (67) and fourth for xG (12.18).

Their visitors Brighton have conceded seven goals over the same period (sixth) and have kept two clean sheets. The Seagulls are ranked 16th for both shots conceded (86) and 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (11.68).

Villa have scored 13 goals over the last six Gameweeks (first), the Midlands side are ranked fourth for 'big chances' (20) and sixth for xG (11.47).

Their hosts Palace have conceded 12 goals over the aforementioned period (18th) and have kept no clean sheets. The Eagles are ranked 13th for shots in the box conceded (76) and 12th for xGC (10.94).

Best Budget Forward: Igor Thiago (SUN)

After six matches without a goal, Thiago finally rewarded his owners’ patience with a hat-trick against Everton, taking his tally to 14 goals for the season.

As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, the 24-year-old is ranked fifth for shots in the box (12) over that period, while only Watkins and Haaland (eight each) have been afforded more 'big chances' than his six. He is also ranked third for shots on target (seven).

Stats for Forwards Fantasy Premier League 2025/26

Brentford have scored 11 goals over the last six gameweeks (fifth), the Bees are ranked seventh for 'big chances' (18) and ninth for xG (10.74).

Their visitors Sunderland have conceded only five goals over the same period (second) and have kept three clean sheets. However, the Black Cats are ranked 12th for shots conceded (84) and 11th for xGC (10.27).

Their visitors Leeds have conceded seven goals over the same period (sixth) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Yorkshire side are ranked ninth for shots conceded (74) and eighth for xGC (8.60).

Top Defensive Asset: Nathan Collins (SUN)

Collins' goal against Everton was his first of the season, the Irish international has attempted 11 shots in the box and been afforded four 'big chances', only Thiaw, Guéhi, Gabriel (five each), Ballard and J.Timber (six each) have fared better amongst defenders.

Brentford have conceded just six goals over as many Gameweeks, only Sunderland (five) and Man City (two) have been more frugal. The London side are ranked 15th for shots in the box conceded (57) and 10th for xGC (10.17).

Their visitors Sunderland have scored just three goals over the last six Gameweeks, the fewest in the league. The Black Cats are ranked 17th for shots in the box (41) and 20th for xG (5.49).
