Ranked an impressive 18,360 overall, Corey Baker has activated his Gameweek 6 Wildcard — and the five-time top-10k finisher already has a clear core of players in mind.

With a personal-best finish of 897th, Corey brings proven Fantasy Premier League pedigree to an already strong start.
His Wildcard offers a chance to reshape his squad around the next run of fixtures, with Arsenal and Chelsea central to his thinking.
Below, he explains the timing, his leading picks and the decisions still to come.

Corey's early Wildcard was part of a wider chip plan, including the money committed to his bench at the start of the season.
“I was always planning to pull my Wildcard early for a few reasons. First, to potentially get rid of extra funds spent on bench players for the early season bench boost. Second, to handle the major fixture swings for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool.”
For managers considering their own FPL Gameweek 6 Wildcard, this is an example of using the chip to build on a good start. Corey is looking ahead from a position inside the top 20,000.
Corey is looking beyond the next deadline when assessing his targets:
“I am planning with a six week horizon which is pretty standard for my moves. I am targeting Chelsea and Arsenal for sure, likely tripling up on both sides.”
That could mean six squad places committed to those two clubs. However, the balance of those selections still matters, particularly when it comes to Arsenal.
David Raya (£6.1m) is among his likely picks, and Corey explains why the goalkeeper appeals:
“Now that most starting goalkeepers are £5.0m I am more inclined to spend extra for him.”
His preference for Raya points towards a potential Arsenal defensive triple-up, making that one of the main features to watch as his Wildcard develops.
Arsenal rank sixth and Chelsea seventh in the Fixture Planner for Gameweeks 6–11, covering Corey’s six-week planning window.

Arsenal begin with Leeds (H), Nottingham Forest (A) and Everton (H), while a home meeting with Hull in Gameweek 10 adds further appeal.
However, trips to Liverpool and Newcastle mean the full six-game run is not without its challenges.
Chelsea have four home matches in that period, hosting Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Leeds, alongside visits to Everton and Sunderland. That run helps explain Corey’s interest in a Chelsea triple-up, with João Pedro (£7.7m) and Morgan Rogers (£7.7m) prominent in his plans.
Corey identifies Erling Haaland (£15.6m), Riccardo Calafiori (£5.8m), Ezri Konsa (£4.6m) andPascal Groß (£5.8m) as his certainties, with Thierno Barry (£5.7m) very likely to join them unless something significant changes.
There is an important fitness condition attached to João Pedro. Corey says:
“Unless his injury is worse than feared he is also obvious. Ridiculously underpriced.”
For Groß, the appeal centres on his role and price:
“I do think his returns have been fortunate but he plays every minute, is on all set pieces including penalties, and Brighton are fantastic going forward. At his price he is a no brainer.”
Konsa receives an especially concise assessment:
“Far too cheap to ignore.”
Only Haaland is ahead of Barry for… 👀

Barry is another player close to making the cut. Corey explains:
“No real striker backup means his minutes are assured and his underlyings are massive thus far. His price is such you can bench him for tough games.”
Asked about his toughest outstanding decision, Corey's answer is immediate:
“Defenders.”
He is weighing up Joško Gvardiol (£5.7m), Maxim De Cuyper (£5.0m), Lewis Hall (£5.3m), Silva (£5.0m) and Tarik Muharemović (£5.0m).
Gvardiol's price and potential rotation are among his concerns.
His fourth and fifth midfield places are also unsettled, with Kevin Schade (£6.2m), Marcus Tavernier (£6.1m) and Josh King (£5.5m) in contention.
Meanwhile, Rayan Cherki's (£7.8m) minutes are a concern despite Corey's admiration for the player:
“I love him but his minutes are too much at risk for me.”
That leaves several meaningful decisions still to follow, even with much of the Wildcard's core already established.
Five top-10k finishes. A best finish of 897th. Currently ranked 18,360. Corey's Gameweek 6 Wildcard is well worth following as he settles those final places.
