With midfield changes dominating the latest activity, who are Fantasy Premier League managers buying and selling?
Using Fantasy Football Fix’s Transfer Analytics tool, we explore the most popular signings, the biggest sales and the top five transfer combinations ahead of Gameweek 5.
Rogers tops the transfer-in rankings with 457,871 purchases, ahead of Groß and Gibbs-White.

Popularity alone does not make a player the right transfer. Groß and De Cuyper face Arsenal, while Schade meets Chelsea. Their immediate fixtures deserve consideration before managers chase recent returns.
Gibbs-White and Gvardiol, meanwhile, have home matches against Coventry and Sunderland respectively which are much more appealing.
Elanga is the most-sold player in the snapshot, with 336,951 transfers out, followed by Szoboszlai on 324,201.
Cherki has also suffered significant sales after his half time substitution against Man United, despite a home fixture against Sunderland.
The transfer combinations reveal where managers are turning for replacements — and one midfielder features repeatedly.
Szoboszlai to Gibbs-White leads the rankings at 3.8%, followed by Szoboszlai to Rogers at 2.0%.

Gibbs-White combines strong recent returns with an attractive home fixture against Coventry.
The £8.0m Nottingham Forest midfielder has produced 24 FPL points over his last three matches, including one goal, two assists and six bonus points. He has also created four big chances.
His 23.79 xFPL closely matches his actual score. xFPL means expected FPL points: an estimate of the points a player’s underlying performance deserved. It helps put recent returns into context rather than relying on points alone.
Szoboszlai has returned 10 points with no goals or assists over the same period, alongside 11.87 xFPL.
Rogers is the most-bought player ahead of Gameweek 5 and the second-most popular replacement for Szoboszlai.
With 457,871 transfers in, he leads the overall rankings ahead of a trip to Brentford.

White to Konsa is the most popular defensive switch, ranking third among all transfer combinations.
At £4.5m, Ezri Konsa offers a budget route into Arsenal’s defence. He has collected 11 points and one clean sheet in three appearances, but his biggest appeal is the price: £0.8m cheaper than any other Gunners defender.

Mbeumo is another popular route to Gibbs-White, but his recent returns make this a less straightforward decision.
He has scored two goals and supplied one assist in his last three matches, earning 21 points. His 20.04 xFPL suggests those returns are broadly supported by his underlying performances.
Gibbs-White has the stronger Gameweek 5 projection — 6.8 against Coventry compared with Mbeumo’s 4.7 at Fulham — and leads by four big chances created to zero over the recent sample.
However, selling a productive midfielder is not necessarily a priority. The switch needs to offer enough value compared with addressing injuries or weaker positions elsewhere.
Foden to Gibbs-White completes the top five, underlining the demand for the Forest midfielder.
