David Raya

Goalkeeper | £5.6m | BOU (H) | Projected Points: 4.6

Arsenal's Spanish goalkeeper, David Raya, stands out as a reliable option between the posts.

With the Gunners likely to rotate their squad ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg against PSG, Raya appears to be the most secure pick in their backline.

The 29-year-old has been a rock this season, keeping 12 clean sheets and earning 9 bonus points. With a favourable home fixture against Bournemouth, his projected 4.6 points could prove to be on the low side.

William Saliba

Defender | £6.6m | BOU (H) | Projected Points: 4.4

Lining up alongside his Arsenal teammate, William Saliba combines defensive reliability with a touch of goal threat. The French centre-back has played a key role in 12 clean sheets this season and has also chipped in with 2 goals.

With an expected goals (xG) of 2.46, another attacking return could be on the cards — and the Cherries might be the ones to suffer.

Jake O'Brien

Defender | £4.5m | IPS (H) | Projected Points: 4.2

Our budget enabler this week is Everton’s Jake O'Brien. While the Toffees’ defenders don’t offer much in terms of goal threat, O'Brien stands out as the best of the bunch as shown in the Opta Stats Sandbox.

Everton defenders ranked by goals scored

The young Irishman has scored twice this season and leads Everton’s backline with an xG of 0.09 per 90 minutes.

However, it’s the potential for a clean sheet that really makes him appealing. Everton have kept 10 clean sheets and conceded just 41 goals so far — solid defensive numbers.

With a home fixture against Ipswich and a projected 4.2 points, O'Brien could be the differential your team needs.

Vitaliy Mykolenko

Defender | £4.3m | IPS (H) | Projected Points: 4.4

Rounding out our defence is another Everton asset, Vitaliy Mykolenko. The Ukrainian full-back has played a key role in the Toffees’ clean sheets this season.

While O'Brien provides the goal threat, Mykolenko offers the creativity. Though not spectacular, his attacking contributions are worth noting, with 2 assists, an xA of 2.05, and 4 big chances created.

Mykolenko looks a solid pick for the backline.

Mohamed Salah (C)

Midfielder | £13.8m | CHE (A) | Projected Points: 6.7

Leading our midfield and wearing the captain's armband is Liverpool’s Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah. With an impressive 28 goals and 18 assists this season, Salah's 328 points make him indispensable to any team.

Elite Managers' captaincy picks for Gameweek 35

However, this week’s tricky away fixture against Chelsea — who have kept the joint-most clean sheets (4) and conceded the joint-fewest goals (4) in the last six gameweeks — has caused some debate among our Elite XI: Team Reveal managers regarding their captaincy picks. As of now, 30.8% of Elite XI have Salah as their captain, with Marmoush on 23.1% and Isak at 15.4%.

There’s also been talk of De Bruyne in the notes from some of the top managers. Keep an eye on the tool closer to the deadline, as these numbers are likely to change with more information from the press conferences.

Kevin De Bruyne

Midfielder | £9.4m | WOL (H) | Projected Points: 6.1

Manchester City's Belgian maestro, Kevin De Bruyne, takes his place in our midfield. Despite limited minutes this season, De Bruyne has still managed to rack up 3 goals and 9 assists.

With a projected 6.1 points, a rest at the weekend in the FA Cup, and low ownership, he could be a highly appealing differential captain pick for those chasing ranks or looking to climb the mini-leagues. De Bruyne even secured the top spot in our Top 5 Differentials this week.

Bryan Mbeumo

Midfielder | £8.1m | MUN (H) | Projected Points: 5.8

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has enjoyed a standout season, with 18 goals and 7 assists to his name. The Cameroonian international’s 210 points and a projected 5.8 points against Manchester United make him a highly attractive pick.

Mbeumo is fast becoming a ‘must-have’ asset, as he’s currently the most transferred-in player, with over 150,000 managers bringing him in at the time of writing.

Jarrod Bowen

Midfielder | £7.6m | TOT (A) | Projected Points: 4.6

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen completes our midfield quartet. The English winger has been one of the bright sparks in an otherwise underwhelming season for the Hammers, registering 9 goals and 10 assists.

Premier League fixtures ranked by attacking difficulty for the final four games

He could prove to be a shrewd differential for the run-in. According to the Fixture Difficulty Rating tool, West Ham rank fourth for attacking fixtures, and Bowen is projected to score 17.9 points over the final four gameweeks — the sixth-highest among midfielders.

Alexander Isak

Forward | £9.6m | BHA (A) | Projected Points: 5.4

Leading our frontline is Newcastle’s Swedish sensation, Alexander Isak. With 22 goals and 6 assists to his name, he has been a constant threat throughout the season.

When fit, Isak has been a regular in the Algorithm’s Team Reveals — and it’s easy to see why.

Yoane Wissa

Forward | £6.6m | MUN (H) | Projected Points: 5.2

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa offers excellent value up front. At the time of writing, he’s the second most transferred-in forward this week, with over 60,000 new owners — behind Cunha (82,000).

Top 10 most popular FPL forward transfer combinations

According to the Transfer Analytics tool, Wissa is involved in the most popular forward transfer combination, with 17.2% swapping out Mateta for him. He also features in 40% of the top 10 forward transfer combinations.

It’s easy to see why. The DR Congo international has scored 15 goals this season, and with a projected 5.2 points against Manchester United, Wissa could be the differential your team needs.

Omar Marmoush

Forward | £7.6m | WOL (H) | Projected Points: 4.7

Rounding off our team is Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian forward has been highly efficient with his game time, scoring 6 goals in just 922 minutes of action.

He’s averaged an impressive 7.29 FPL points per home game this season — the highest of any forward. With a home fixture against Wolves and a projected 4.7 points, Marmoush could easily exceed expectations given City’s attacking firepower.
