Headliner – Erling Haaland (shu)

Despite blanking in Gameweek 2 against Newcastle, Haaland is still joint-top for goals scored amongst forwards (two), he has taken eight shots in the box (SiB) with only Wissa (nine) and Edouard (10) taking more. He is ranked sixth for ‘Expected Goals’ (xG) amongst forwards (1.12) over the first two matches and as the Fix Heatmaps image below shows, he averaged 6.5 FPL points per game in away matches last season. Man. City have scored only four goals in the first two games and have taken 31 shots (seventh) with a cumulative 3.41 xG (10th). However, it is worth remembering their numbers from last season, where they were top for goals scored (94), ‘big chances’ (BC) (132) and xG (77.1). Sheff. Utd. conceded 19 goals in home matches last season, only Burnley conceded fewer (15). They were ranked fourth for ‘Expected Goals conceded’ (xGC) (20 .1) in home matches. They have allowed opponents 26 SiB in their opening two matches, only Bournemouth, Fulham (both 29) and Man. Utd. (31) have been more generous. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 8.0 for Haaland.

Bukayo Saka (FUL)

Saka opened his account at the Emirates with a brilliantly taken goal against Forest in Gameweek 1, as the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, only Eze (nine) has taken more open play shots amongst midfielders than his six over the first two Gameweeks. Meanwhile, no Arsenal midfielder has created more chances than his five. The Gunners have only scored three goals in their first two matches but it is worth remembering their numbers at the Emirates last year, their 53 goals scored at home was bettered only by Man. City (60). The London side were ranked fourth for xG in home matches (40.73) and top for shots (354). Fulham have only conceded three goals so far but have been very fortunate to do so. They are bottom for xGC (6.08) while only Man. Utd. (31) have allowed opponents more SiB than their 29 Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.8 for Saka.

Nicolas Jackson (LUT)

Jackson has failed to find the back of the net for Chelsea so far, but is getting plenty of chances. His six SiB is bettered only by Haaland (eight), Wissa (nine) and Edouard (10) amongst forwards. He is joint-top for BC (three) with only Maupay (1.53) and Wissa (1.62) notching a better xG than his 1.48. Chelsea are short of forward options at the moment and Jackson is rated at 96% to start as per the Fix Predicted lineups feature, shown in the image below. Chelsea have scored just two goals in their first two matches and are ranked 13th for shots (27). However, they are creating good quality chances, the London side are ranked fifth for BC (six) and xG (4.12). Their visitors Luton had the best away defence in the Championship last season with only 18 goals conceded, they were ranked third for xGC (23.6) in away matches last season. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.0 for Jackson.

Mitoma has started the season on fire, the Japanese international is top for assists (two), chances created (nine) and BC created (two) amongst midfielders over the first two Gameweeks. As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, he is a popular transfer target this week with nearly half a million managers bringing him in. Brighton’s numbers are very impressive, the Seagulls are top for goals scored (eight), shots (43), BC (11) and xG (6.79). Their visitors West Ham have only conceded two goals this season and are ranked eighth for xGC (2.84). Ben Chilwell (LUT)

Chilwell has been thriving in an attacking wingback role for Chelsea, with his total of three SiB only being bettered by Varane and Estupiñán (four each) amongst defenders. His total of 0.45 xG is fourth behind Romero (0.53), Varane (0.57) and Disasi (0.65). He has also created three chances over Chelsea’s first two matches. Chelsea have conceded four goals so far with only Wolves, Everton and Villa (five each) leakier. However, the West London side have conceded just 15 SiB with only Arsenal (14), Forest (12) and Man. City (nine) stronger in defence. Luton struggled in away matches last season, only scoring 26 goals on the road (10th). Meanwhile, they were ranked 13th for xG in away matches (24.9).
