Each week we break down the top captaincy options to help you maximise points and climb your mini-leagues.
For Gameweek 16, we’ve highlighted three standout choices:
1️⃣ Fix’s No.1 predicted captain pick
2️⃣ A safe, high-ownership option (20%+ ownership)
3️⃣ A bold differential captain (under 20% ownership)
These picks cover every type of FPL manager — whether you prefer to play it safe with the crowd or chase early gains with a differential.
Bruno Fernandes’ 18-point haul against Wolves has taken him to the top of the FPL midfielder standings (85 points). The Portuguese playmaker now has four goals, six assists and a position-leading 14 bonus points this season.
No midfielder has created more chances than his 45 attempted assists, and only Doku (9) has produced more 'big chances' than Bruno’s seven.
As shown in the Opta Stats Sandbox image below, he also leads all midfielders for shots (42) and Expected Goals (xG: 8.27).

Man United have scored 12 goals in seven home matches at Old Trafford (10th), but their underlying numbers are far stronger: they rank 1st for shots (129) and 3rd for xG (15.97) in home fixtures.
Their opponents Bournemouth have struggled on the road, conceding 19 away goals — only Burnley (23) have shipped more. The Cherries also rank 17th for shots in the box conceded and 16th for xGC (13.63) in away games.
According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, B.Fernandes is projected to score 5.9 FPL points this Gameweek.
Haaland has scored four goals in the last six Gameweeks, with only Foden and Thiago (five each) beating him over that stretch. The Norwegian ranks second for shots in the box (19) and second for xG (4.46) during this period.
As shown in the Player Heatmaps image below, he has also averaged an impressive 8.1 FPL points per game in away fixtures this season.

Man City have scored 13 away goals this campaign — only Man United (14), Spurs and Chelsea (15 each) have managed more. They also rank sixth for big chances (18) and eighth for xG (10.85) on their travels.
Their hosts Crystal Palace have been fairly resilient at Selhurst Park, conceding just seven home goals (5th) and keeping three clean sheets. Defensively, they rank 5th for shots conceded (70) and 11th for xGC (9.94) in home matches.
According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Haaland is projected to score 5.1 points this Gameweek.

As highlighted in the Opta Stats Sandbox image below, he ranks second for attempted assists (25 vs Rice’s 27) and second for big chances created (five vs Rice’s seven). He is also joint-top with Eze for shots in the box (21).

Arsenal have scored 18 goals at the Emirates this season — only Man City (22) have more on home soil. The Gunners are third for shots in the box (81) and fourth for xG (15.66) in home matches.
Their visitors Wolves have conceded 12 away goals (11th) and are still without an away clean sheet. They rank 15th for shots conceded (105) and 8th for xGC (11.18) in away fixtures.
