In this blog the Top Five Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Key Players for Gameweek 14 are discussed. Every FPL Gameweek, picks will be in the below format:

Headliner - Erling Haaland (TOT)

Haaland's goal against Liverpool made it six in as many Gameweeks for the Norwegian international and only Solanke (18) has taken more shots in the box (SiB) than his 17 amongst forwards. The 23-year-old is top for 'big chances' (BC) (10) and 'Expected Goals' (xG) (5.5). As the below image from our Predicted Lineups feature shows, he is rated at 100% to start. Man. City have scored 16 goals over the last six Gameweeks (first) and are top for shots on target (SoT) (40). Villa (21) are the only team to have fashioned more BC than their 19. Their opponents Spurs have conceded nine goals over the same period and have kept just two clean sheets. The London side are without Romero and Van de Ven for this game, which is a huge loss, and are ranked 11th for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (9.24) currently. Mohamed Salah (FUL)

Salah's seven goals over the last six Gameweeks is top amongst all players, the Egyptian international is also top amongst midfielders for SiB (15), BC (seven) and xG (4.71). As the below image from our Fix Heatmaps feature shows, he has averaged 10.5 FPL points per game in home matches this season. Liverpool have scored 12 goals over the same period, with only Newcastle, Villa (13 each), Chelsea (15) and Man. City (16) being more prolific in front of goal. The Merseyside outfit are top for both shots (110) and xG (4.71). Their visitors Fulham have conceded 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks and kept no clean sheets. The Cottagers are ranked 11th for shots conceded (74) and sixth for xGC (8.00). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 7.1 for Salah.

Bryan Mbeumo (LUT)

Mbeumo has found the back of the net just twice over the last six Gameweeks but no midfielder has taken more shots (21) over that period, while only Salah (15) has taken more SiB than his 13. He has been afforded four BC with only Soucek (five), Hee Chan, Palmer (six each) and Salah (seven) being afforded more. His creativity numbers are excellent as well, he has created 11 chances and notched two assists over the aforementioned period. As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, he is currently the second most transferred-in player this week. Brentford have scored nine goals over the last six Gameweeks and are ranked eighth for SoT (28). Meanwhile, only Newcastle, Man. City, Chelsea (19 each) and Villa (21) have created more BC than the Bees (17). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.6 for Mbeumo.

Cole Palmer (BHA)

Palmer has scored four goals over the last six Gameweeks and only Salah (seven) scoring more amongst midfielders. The 21-year-old is fifth for shots (14) and as the Stats Sandbox image below shows, he is second for both BC (six) and xG (4.28). He has also racked up two assists and created 10 chances. Meanwhile, only Son, McGinn, Saka (four each) and B. Silva (five) have created more BC than his three. Chelsea have scored 15 goals over the last six Gameweeks with only Man. City (16) scoring more. The London side are ranked second for BC (19) and third for xG (12.69). Their visitors Brighton have conceded nine goals over the same period and are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season. The Seagulls are ranked eighth for shots conceded (72) and seventh for xGC (8.11). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 4.0 for Palmer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (FUL)

Alexander-Arnold finally delivered on his promising numbers with a goal against Man. City, the right-back has attempted 10 shots over the last six Gameweeks with only Mykolenko taking more (11) amongst defenders. His nine chances created trails only Toffolo, Dalot (10 each), Digne (12) and Trippier (13), while only Trippier and Porro (four each) have created more BC than his three. Liverpool have conceded just four goals over the last six Gameweeks and have kept three clean sheets. The Merseyside outfit are ranked third for SiB conceded (41). Their visitors Fulham have conceded eight goals over the same period but the numbers show they have been a bit lucky. The Cottages are ranked 17th for SiB with only the promoted sides Burnley, Luton (38 each) and Sheff. Utd. (28) attempting fewer. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a 50% chance of a Liverpool clean sheet and a point score of 4.9 for the right-back.
