As shown in the image below, Barnes tops the Custom Stats xFPL table for Gameweek 12 with a score of 13.4. The winger took three shots in the box, all of which were classified as 'big chances' by Opta and scored from two of them.

Muñoz delivered for his owners with a 14-point FPL haul, the Colombian international took two shots in the box, one of which was a 'big chance' and kept a clean sheet.
Hattrick-hero Eze ranked second for shots in the box (five), but with none of his efforts classed as a ‘big chance’ by Opta, his xFPL score settled at a modest 9.8.
Szoboszlai was the Gameweek’s most creative player, producing five attempted assists. He also registered one shot on target but, with no involvement in any ‘big chances’, his xFPL score remained low at just 3.4.
Thiago was joint-top with Barnes for ‘big chances’ (three). The forward took three shots in the box and returned an xFPL score of 9.6.
J. Timber continues to impress. The Dutch international took three shots in the box — including one ‘big chance’ — and saw his only attempted assist converted. He finished the Gameweek with an impressive xFPL score of 9.3.
xFPL is calculated primarily using expected goals (xG) and expected assists (xA), which combine to form expected FPL involvements (xG + xA = xI), along with expected clean sheets (xCS). These values are based on underlying statistics — for example, shot type and location determine the probability of scoring, which contributes to xG. xFPL then combines these metrics, factoring in appearance and bonus points to produce an overall expected FPL point score.
As shown in the Transfer Analytics tool below, Thiago is the most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 13, with over 250,000 FPL managers adding him to their teams at the time of writing.

Eze's haul against Spurs has seen him bought by over 200,000 FPL managers as well. While Muñoz and J.Timber are also popular with managers seeking replacements for the injured Gabriel.
The Brazilian international continues to be the most sold player with over 400,000 sales already this Gameweek at the time of writing.
Semenyo missed out entirely for Bournemouth, with Iraola attributing his absence to illness rather than injury. The Ghanaian international should be back for the Cherries next game, but that has not put off nearly 250,000 FPL managers from selling him.
Meanwhile, João Pedro, Caicedo, Kudus and Mateta are also seeing sales after their blanks over the weekend.

Looking at the top 10 forward transfer combinations, João Pedro to Thiago (43.3%) is the most popular transfer combination across all positions by a distance. Budget forwards are in vogue with Thiago and Welbeck occupying all 10 of the most popular forward transfer combinations, with Woltemade, Mateta, Kroupi.Jr and Ekitiké being sold.
Among midfielders, the top 10 combinations are more scattered with Semenyo to Eze (7.9%) the most popular. Five of the top 10 midfielder transfer combinations involve selling the Ghanaian international with Caicedo, Gakpo and Reijnders the other midfielders being sold. Minteh, Rogers, Foden and Mbeumo are popular acquisitions.
In defence, selling Gabriel is the priority with Muñoz, O'Reilly, J.Timber, Virgil and Gvardiol all popular picks. James is also being sold after his half-time substitution against Burnley.
Muñoz, J.Timber and O'Reilly are all popular transfers in for Gabriel this week and as the below image from the Fix Comparison Matrix shows, the trio have all scored scored similarly over the past six Gameweeks with just seven FPL points between them.

he trio are level on FPL assists with two each. Timber hasn’t found the net in the last six Gameweeks, while Muñoz has scored twice and O’Reilly has added one goal.
When it comes to shot volume, O'Reilly leads the way with eight attempts in the box with J.Timber in second (seven). It is perhaps surprising to see Muñoz with the lowest shot volume (four), but he has landed every attempt on target (four) while the other two have managed three combined.
O'Reilly leads the way for creativity as well with seven attempted assists, J.Timber is in second (five) while Muñoz has attempted just two.
J. Timber leads the trio for xFPL (34), helped by Arsenal’s strong defensive form. Muñoz follows closely with 33, while O’Reilly trails slightly on 27.
All three look like great picks but there remains some gametime risk around O'Reilly, he has played the fewest minutes (474) of the trio and could be rotated given Man City's upcoming schedule.
