Looking for the best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) captain for Gameweek 12?
Each week we break down the top captaincy options to help you maximise points and climb your mini-leagues.
For Gameweek 12, we’ve highlighted three standout choices:
1️⃣ Fix’s No.1 predicted captain pick
2️⃣ A safe, high-ownership option (20%+ ownership)
3️⃣ A bold differential captain (under 20% ownership)
These picks cover every type of FPL manager — whether you prefer to play it safe with the crowd or chase early gains with a differential.
Salah has scored just four goals this season, but his underlying numbers have picked up, showing glimpses of last year’s form. No midfielder has taken more shots in the box (22), and he leads the way for big chances (eight) and expected goals (xG 5.30).
Creatively, he’s also right up there. Only Doku (23), Grealish (24) and Bruno Fernandes (29) have created more chances than his 21, and he ranks first for big chances created (five).
Liverpool themselves look strong going forward. They’ve scored 18 goals (6th), rank first for total shots (163), fourth for big chances (33), and third for xG (21.77).
Their opponents, Forest, have yet to keep a clean sheet and have conceded 20 goals (16th). Defensively they sit 16th for shots conceded (145) and 18th for expected goals conceded (18.39), making this a favourable matchup for Salah.

According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Salah is projected to score 7.1 points this Gameweek.
Haaland’s 14 goals put him six clear at the top of the Golden Boot race, ahead of Thiago on eight. No player has taken more shots in the box (44), created more big chances (22), or produced a higher xG (11.00) than the 25-year-old.
As shown in the image from our Player Heatmaps feature below, he’s also been exceptional away from home, averaging 8.2 FPL points per game on the road this season.

Man City have scored 23 goals, which is more than any other side. The Manchester side are ranked second for both shots on target (57) and 'big chances' (34).
Their hosts, Newcastle, have conceded 14 goals (ninth) and have kept five clean sheets. The Magpies are ranked sixth for shots in the box conceded (81) and fourth for xGC (13.29).
According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, Haaland is projected to score 5.9 points this Gameweek.
B. Fernandes' assist against Spurs was his third of the season, no player across all positions has created more chances (29) this season than the Portugal international.
Meanwhile, only J. Murphy, Salah, Mbeumo (26 each) and Gakpo (27) have attempted more shots than his 25 amongst midfielders. As shown in the image below from our Opta Stats Sandbox, he trails only Salah (5.30) and Semenyo (4.98) for xG (4.65).

Man United have scored 19 goals with only Arsenal (20), Chelsea (21) and Man City (23) more prolific. The Red Devils are ranked third for shots in the box (107) and fourth for xG (21.00).
Their visitors Everton have conceded 13 goals (eighth) and have kept just three clean sheets. The Toffees are ranked 15th for shots conceded (144) and 17th for xGC (18.32).
According to our Predicted Points & Stats tool, B. Fernandes is projected to score 5.1 points this Gameweek.
