Fantasy Premier League managers now have a much clearer picture of how Double Gameweek 33 and Blank Gameweek 34 could shape up, after the Premier League provisionally rearranged a number of fixtures on Thursday.
The key update is that any club who wins their FA Cup quarter-final this weekend will see their scheduled Gameweek 34 Premier League match moved into Double Gameweek 33 instead.
Those rearranged matches are set to take place between Tuesday 21 April and Thursday 23 April, with final dates expected to be confirmed early next week. For reference, the Gameweek 32 deadline falls at 18:30 BST on Friday 10 April.
What this means for FPL managers is simple: any team that reaches the FA Cup semi-finals, along with their original Gameweek 34 opponents, would be handed a Double Gameweek 33 followed immediately by a Blank Gameweek 34.

There could now be up to 8 teams doubling, with a minimum of 4 confirmed. 👀

With six Premier League clubs still involved in the FA Cup quarter-finals, there is the potential for a major swing in scheduling. If both Arsenal and Chelsea progress against lower-league opposition, Gameweek 34 could lose four fixtures, creating the biggest Double and Blank Gameweeks of the 2025/26 FPL season so far.

If Arsenal progress: Arsenal and Newcastle get DGW33 and BGW34
Should Arsenal beat Southampton, their Gameweek 34 home fixture against Newcastle would be postponed and shifted into Double Gameweek 33.
That would leave both sides with two fixtures in Gameweek 33 and no match in Gameweek 34.
Arsenal’s potential DGW33 fixtures:
Man City (A), Newcastle (H)
Newcastle’s potential DGW33 fixtures:
Bournemouth (H), Arsenal (A)
If Chelsea progress: Chelsea and Brighton get DGW33 and BGW34
If Chelsea overcome Port Vale, their Gameweek 34 trip to Brighton would move into DGW33.
That would give Chelsea a double against Man Utd and Brighton, while Brighton would also play twice before blanking in Gameweek 34.

Brighton’s potential DGW33 fixtures:
Spurs (A), Chelsea (H)
If Man City progress: Man City and Burnley get DGW33 and BGW34
A Man City win over Liverpool would move their Gameweek 34 meeting with Burnley into DGW33.
City would then face Arsenal and Burnley in the same Gameweek, while Burnley would take on Nottingham Forest and Man City.

It is also worth noting that Man City’s postponed home fixture against Crystal Palace from Gameweek 31 still needs to be rearranged, which could yet create another Double Gameweek for Guardiola’s side.
If Liverpool progress: Liverpool and Crystal Palace get DGW33 and BGW34
If Liverpool knock out Man City, then it would be the Reds — not City — who gain the Double Gameweek 33.
Their postponed Gameweek 34 clash with Crystal Palace would move forward, giving both clubs a double in Gameweek 33 and a blank in Gameweek 34.

Crystal Palace’s potential DGW33 fixtures:
West Ham (H), Liverpool (A)
If West Ham progress: West Ham and Everton get DGW33 and BGW34
A West Ham victory over Leeds would trigger a reschedule of their Gameweek 34 fixture with Everton.
That would hand both clubs a double in Gameweek 33 before they sit out Gameweek 34.

If Leeds progress: Leeds and Bournemouth get DGW33 and BGW34
If Leeds are the side to reach the semi-finals, their Gameweek 34 match against Bournemouth would instead be brought forward into Double Gameweek 33.
Leeds would then face Wolves and Bournemouth, while Bournemouth would take on Newcastle and Leeds.

These possible schedule changes could have a huge impact on chip strategy, transfer planning and captaincy over the next few Gameweeks.
Managers considering a Wildcard, Bench Boost or Free Hit now have a much better idea of which clubs could benefit from a double in Gameweek 33, and which sides could blank in Gameweek 34.
Once the FA Cup quarter-finals are complete, the picture should become much clearer.
Before the fixture announcement, we had already explored what an optimal Wildcard draft could look like for Gameweek 32, giving managers an early starting point for navigating the run-in. We also took a look at Elite XI manager Corey Baker’s approach after he hit the button on his Wildcard already. Baker, who has recorded five top 10k finishes, moved early in a bid to get ahead of the schedule swings and put himself in a strong position for the weeks ahead.
