It’s been a tricky start to the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League season, with many managers struggling to find consistency.
That’s why the Elite XI: Team Reveal tool is so valuable: the managers inside it have over 80 top 10k finishes between them, and their plans can provide much-needed guidance.
This week, we’ve taken a look at their strategies ahead of Gameweek 5 and beyond.
The common thread?
Gameweek 6 could be one of the most important moments of the season.
Across the group, Gameweek 6 is emerging as the key turning point.
Tom Dollimore (World Number 1) is leaning towards rolling his transfer in GW5 and “likely Wildcarding in GW6,” though he’s leaving the door open for a Bench Boost in GW5 if the information falls his way. His balance of planning ahead but staying dynamic is a hallmark of his pedigree.
Mark Mansfield (7× Top 10k Finishes) admits Salah and Watkins are becoming problems, keeping “an open mind about WC6.”
Walter Randazzo (7× Top 10k Finishes) is weighing up a short-term move (Wirtz/Rogers ➝ Semenyo) before a Salah ➝ Haaland switch in GW6 — or activating the Wildcard.
Matt Corbidge (6× Top 10k Finishes) says he has “major concerns over Salah” and is considering either Wildcarding in GW6 or using two free transfers to bring in Haaland, with the Triple Captain chip as a possible play.
Even managers not targeting GW6 directly are still planning around it. Corey Baker (5× Top 10k Finishes) is set on Wildcarding in GW7, to move away from Forest defenders and onto Arsenal’s favourable fixtures.
If there’s one transfer theme uniting them all, it’s the move from Salah to Haaland.
After his 13-point haul against Man United in Gameweek 4, the Man City forward is now the top-scoring player in FPL with 37 points.
According to the Opta Heatmaps tool, he’s averaging 9.3 points per game — exactly the sort of return you want from a captain.
The stats underline his dominance:
Haaland has already had 9 big chances this season! 🤯

So why wait until Gameweek 6 and not get him now?
City face Arsenal away in Gameweek 5, and the Gunners have been rock solid defensively — conceding just one goal in four matches (to Liverpool) and keeping three clean sheets, with the second-lowest xGC in the league (2.49).
Haaland can score against anyone, of course, but holding off for one more week does look sensible.
From Gameweek 6, however, the fixture swing is clear:
That run puts City fourth for attacking fixtures in the Fixture Planner.
With Salah enduring a very underwhelming start to the season by his standards, using him as the cash cow to fund Haaland is exactly the strategy many of the Elite XI: Team Reveal managers are considering.
Despite those clear themes, all of the Elite XI are leaving room to adapt:
It’s a reminder that even at the very top, FPL is rarely about rigid plans — it’s about forward planning with the flexibility to change when needed.
Gameweek 6 looks like the season’s first major flashpoint. Whether it’s Wildcarding, moving Salah to Haaland, or even using the Triple Captain, the decisions made then could shape the campaign.
If you’re struggling to find direction, keeping an eye on the Elite XI: Team Reveal tool — where these world-class managers share their live moves — could give you the insight needed to get back on track
